I had an idea for a good forum game in the style of typical world-builder threads. But instead of a world, we will be building a work of fiction. With tropes! Instead of writing the story directly, we'll tell it through trope examples. I'll start by posting a vague description as if I were writing the first paragraph of a TVTropes article, then subsequent posters will add onto the universe by writing trope examples. Each example must work within the increasingly explicit guidelines of the universe defined by previous examples, and a story will begin to form.

• Along with examples, feel free to add other tropish things, such as quotes, trivia, reviews, or even crowners (CMoA, HONF, etc.) and Wild Mass Guessing entries. Think outside the box!
• Let's actually write this like a TVTropes article, complete with an obnoxious amount of potholes alluding to even more tropes.
• Try to stay consistent with previous posts. Failing that, though, we can always pull a retcon.
• When it's agreed that we've gone far enough with the current work, I (or someone else) will post a new one and we can start over. In addition to normal submissions, I'll occasionally post an expanded work description, consolidating all the new accumulated info from the examples.

Egomaniac Hunter: Jacques is a perfect example of this. His friends are implied to be even worse.

Wham Episode: 'Fractures', the last episode of the second season certainly qualifies, utterly different from the normally lighthearted tone of the series. It got a Love It Or Hate It response from the fans, and marked the direction the series would be taking from there on.

Edit: Bonus points for this thread if all tropes are archived in OP, if there are separate "pages" for all characters and if there there are made up "canon" arcs that all players keep referring too. Fractures was a real tearjerker.

Dark and Troubled past: Leonardo would never talk about it, and it was a running joke in till it was revealed in the end of the second season that:

When he was young his mother and sister were both brutally raped and murdered (because his father had badly hurt a big mafia organization), while he could only watch. His father was also murdered, and he was being hunted by the men who did it because he was a witness.

Took a level in Badass: Leonardo after the second season.

The Dragon: Lord Karloff has one in Terror Jack, who also has his own group of underlings, Karl and Fran.

 Milo's Death. When Milena finds him barely breathing.
The whole scene... Just amazing. Especially With Guns n' Roses' Version of Knockin' on Heaven's Door playing all the time. When the goons leave, and Milena runs to dying Milo. The scene actually made me cry, and that doesn't happen often.
