Ivan 'Sir Fiddle' Fiddlebottom-Jake charges headlong through the cloud of gas, expecting to clear it before it gets out of hand. However, he fails to execute his plan as he originally expected. He takes a huge breath before running through, resulting in a throat full of gas by the time he passes out on the stairway. Jacen grabs him and brings him to safety on the other side of the passage.

Tarran Terra-Tarran stands high above the gas, taking a breath and then moving through the corridor. The group passes an arched doorway leading into a massive inner hall by the sound of it. It's pitch black, but the group can hear their voices echo. The only way to the floor below is a curved and spiraling stairway. Something tells Tarran that it was designed this way so that marksdwarves can rain down arrows on a force trying to make its way down the stairs.

Porin Keeperechoes-Porin follows Taran to see the archway. Porin's kobold senses tell him there is treasure in the room. Time to move!

Bjorn Inmus-Bjorn proceeds to shield off the room from the gas. However, Taric is still inside the room, and now neither Bjorn or Taric can get out because there's... well... a shield in the way.

Taric 'Madman' Cogudib-"Uh-oh. Good thing I used the trap disarmer," states Taric before he realizes Bjorn blocked the way. Since Dwarves are unaffected by the gas, Taric uses the time to wrap up his nose using his medical tools. It should heal soon now.

'Jacen'-Jacen follows the group.

Evade the gas and go further down the corridor.

Porin decided treasure sounded like a good deal and went for the stairs. Surely there was something below worth taking!

Rolls:

Ivan 'Sir Fiddle' Fiddlebottom-Jacen comes to, coughing blood all over the stairs. He rolls to his side a bit in an attempt to sit upright, but his hand finds nothing to support itself on. This stairway has no guard rails. Ivan's throat aches badly, and his burns and rib-cage even more. He can't conceive of a way he could heal this alone. Maybe there's something in the fortress that can... nah, that's crazy.

Tarran Terra-Tarran begins walking down the stairway and begins to see the floor of the great hall below. Having no guard rails to prevent him from falling, Tarran slows down to make sure he doesn't trip. Except that he does, despite this. Tarran falls about two stories to the floor below, impacting on something rather crunchy. He has little light to see what he just landed on, however.

Porin Keeperechoes-Porin calls out to Tarran,
"Is Tarran okay? Need Porin help?"
"No, I'm fine... I just can't see a thing. Can you come down here?"

Bjorn Inmus-Bjorn creates a bubble of shield energy around himself, trapping himself, then uses fire to blast the shield around the room away, allowing Taric to pass. Bjorn is still trapped.

Taric 'Madman' Cogudib-Tarran meets up with the others (Porin) on the stairway.

'Jacen'-Jacen follows the group.

Porin looked up at Taric and nodded, then turned to the pit Tarran had fallen into. "Okay! Porin, Taric be right there!" he called down, then started looking for a less dangerous route down than falling.

I have a crude hand-drawn view of the room right now... I drew it in 30 seconds. Should I post it?

Also, I'm thinking of (spending more time doing so) drawing some of your characters, but I realized that unlike some of our usual RTDs on this forum, the characters in this RTD are mostly normal.

Rolls:

Ivan 'Sir Fiddle' Fiddlebottom-Ivan searches around in his bag, trying to find a rope. He didn't bring one. The next best thing, however, would be... wait a minute... that won't work. But there IS a spider on Bjorn's head, maybe that'll help!

Tarran Terra-Tarran checks the area to see what he just landed on. Being in total darkness down here, he resorts to feeling the spot he landed on with his hand. He notices a contour in the floor, shaped in a roughly human form. Perhaps that crunching noise was... the floor? Suddenly, Tarran begins to hear more crunching, and the floor beneath him begins to sightly crack. Panicking, he looks up and sees the pillars surrounding him. Each one has a certain engraving on in, different from the rest. The reason he can see these is, in fact, because the engravings glow. The pillars seem almost about his height.

Porin Keeperechoes-Porin looks at Taric, nods, then peers over the edge and shouts, "Okay! Tarran, Taric be right there!"
Porin then makes his way down the stairs, finding a large platform, with massive doorways to the north, and a large downward slope to the south. Since Tarran is to the south, Porin begins to walk down the ramps.

Taric 'Madman' Cogudib-"Uh, should we help him?" mutters Taric as he realizes Tarran is down below the catwalk of stairs that the rest of the group is on.

Bjorn Inmus-Bjorn kicks his shield, somehow disabling it, then casts it behind himself. He shrugs, and walks over to Ivan, Taric, and Porin. Ivan begins to look suspiciously toward the spider on Bjorn's head.

'Jacen'-Jacen follows the group.

Look at a random engraving, and read it if it's made of actual words.
