Totems, watchtowers, pets, pit them off a tower to make your soldiers "not really care about anything anymore", Capybara Tallow Roast[4], illegal animal fights...

You call yourself a dwarf.  There's dozens of options, most of them violent!

Oh, like, tigermen varieties?  Make them pet-able, and if they have [CAN_SPEAK] then elect one as mayor.  No mandates ever!

You could flood the map with magma. I'm sure this should fix any problem you might have, almost, ever.

Okay, so because Panda men's raws just apply variations straight on to panda raws, I wonder if that means that they still have the PET tag?

Anyone caught a Panda man and can test if they can be tamed like Tiger men?

I want a panda man mayor!

Force them ALL into a 1 tile room (pasture), lock them in, and watch them fight to the death.

If you want to do something less fun, use them as bait animals for cage traps.

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.
