Can we replace the Patriarch with a Heretic one? Maybe make it hard to do so, but when it happens make it hard to undo? Or maybe find a way to weaken the Patriarch to the point you don't need them to win?

Also Tyberix, I think if we can convince your people that the blame is on the Patriarch and his cronys and not the religion itself I think our two houses can work quite well together.

What you say about we start alternate religion ? You know the old good protestant secession :P And yep i was wondering what kind of religion attitude  should i put there, they're mostly disappointed by the high command than the system itself.

Well, the worst part is that we probably are bit too weak to start anything serious right now ;p

well you already arrayed the possibilities:
A) different Religion result-> Crusades, Massive Wars with Cult Followers of all directions(even eventually recessed ones
B) Secession-> Crusades,Massive Wars with Cult Followers
C) Insert different Patriarch -> propably nothing of the above
D) Destroy Chuch -> widespread terrorism,uprisings,revolts, Crusades from the other Houses...

Was it god fault or was it the corrupt churches fault? There is the difference in thinking for heathens and heretics.

Indeed. The Golden One Knows your pain. He Knows what you have gone though. He promises that if you help him cast down the corrupt and evil influences of the old church changes will be made and this will not be able to happen again. Indeed it only happened because the old church lost gods favor.
