Had a 500 point game against Twilight. I got lucky, he kicked me around, I ran away, the game ended and I was ahead on points.

My two remaining ships were on the verge of falling apart, too. One had the shield generators destroyed, and the other had 1 shield and 2 hull points left. A few more turns, and I'd have lost it.

WH40K+Star Wars is fairly close, but there's a bit less of a focus on fighters and bombers to do damage. They're still there, and they're very nasty, but it's possible to win fights without them.

I would say its more like Wooden Ships and Iron Men meets Warhammer40k meets the concept fo fighters meets an actually believable scale for space combat

I find it funny that despite the fact that I actually own the rulebook, I decided to download the rule from the website rather than go upstairs and get it... May play a game in a bit.

I haven't really played the game at all, but I think I've got the rules down, 1000 point battle sound good?
EDIT: now I have to bang my head against the wall after sitting around waiting for a reply for 2 hours and finding out that the connection had dropped.

Yeah, it does that, I forget about it too sometimes and find that out too late. Who knows how many people I've missed? A better method of chatting would probably be through the Steam DFC chat, at least it lets you know when you DC.
