Viking invasion seems to work fine, the regular strategic map seems to be buggered though. Wont work most of the time.

So I guess were doing VI!

Choices of nation are:

Irish
Mercians
Picts
Saxons
Scots
Vikings
Welsh


I vote welsh, i'm hoping they have longbows  :P

Seems the main maps work randomly, 2 for Welsh 1 for Vikings so far  :P

What vikings are we talking about here? Danes? Jutes? Normans? Swedes? If they're just lumped together as one group then I guess I'll go for the Welsh. At least they seem to have a bit of historic consistency.

The game seems to work sporadically, it's a matter of starting the campaign repeatedly until it holds, then doing it   :P

First battle, the King commands.

Situation - Welsh tribesmen are hiding in a forest, we have to go in and beat them into submission.
We have the King and his bodyguards, 2 Celtic warrior bands and 1 archer group.
They have at least 1 archer group.

Tactics - We will send the infantry in first, charge up the hill into the forest while our archers support from the rear. The king will move in and attempt to flank them if practicable.

The kings army currently are pacifying the locals. Unrest is high after a new conquest!

Casualties:
We lost 52
We captured 45[Including 2 nobles]
We killed 101

Thanks to the trees, neithersides archers did much damage. Ours scored only one kill.

The captured rebels and their lords were executed for opposing the god king Caradoc I.
