I never said I was going to blast the Merman's door down.

The Caerri are going to be much more warlike now, after having their first settlement blown to hell it can only be expected.

Ahhh.... Draignean... I don't really think you have enough people for that... After losing half your guys you most likely don't have a heck of a lot.

80 -15 -12 -12 -12 = 29  remaining Caerri in the main city after the transports have left.

Ah okay, missed that part.

Still stretching a bit thin, but that’s your choice.

*shrugs*

He who dares... gets kicked in the teeth by fate.

Hell at least the Caerri have the rather dubious honor of being the first to kill a merman.

We attacked, it died.

If we hadn't attacked, it would not have died.

We killed it.

If indirectly.

You irritated it to suicide and got blown up for it.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Hey it's still dead, I'll take credit for it.  :P Unless these things have fungible minds I don't think irritated is a good reason for suicide.

Oh no... you didn't make them fungible did you?

I don't know what fungible means, so I'm going to guess no. the Merpeople aren't mentally linked or anything, except for Thing.
Thing is secret for now, but Warrior-Scientists aren't part of it so you're fine.

It means easy to trade for something of equal value. Normally cash.

No, the merpeople are not trade goods, either.

Fungible personalities are ones that can be combined, split, and lost freely, they're pretty common in space opera science fiction. Beings with Fungible personalities are driven as a whole instead as individuals due to the fact that they are to one extent or another copies, as such they don't have much fear of death. (Much in the same way you would not be afraid of trimming your nails.)

(The geth from mass effect are an example of a race made from a a composite of fungible personalities..)

Simplest and narrow definition, but adequate.

Ah. Well. I guess that would be how a fungible mind works...
