The Floatune glow! They have no need for a light source.
To see far though they will need some sort of brighter source of light. Guessing by how long it was light, it must be dark for a very long time. The Floatune search for creatures of the dark, who would have some sort of light source. Preferably some sort of plant or herbivore instead of a large predator.
The trade caravan offers all of the cheap building material it has for this "metal" rumors have been circulating about. We will trade 10 OMU of Kelp for every 2-3 OMU of metal.
Luminescent plants are found northwest, but the massive shadows of the Merpeople float above them with glowing artifacts attached to them, placing small grey spheres above them in a way that seems rather defensive. Perhaps it is food they do not wish touched by the wildlife? There
are quite a few small fish swarming around here.
Explorers are sent down into the Eastern Cave. The colonists of the Eastern Cave are also sent to find a source of food for their colony, and the Aid Platoon is withdrawn to go and defend Ygethar from those who might attempt an attack in the darkness, taking with them the complementary bio-luminescent spheres for the purpose of breeding.
Ygethar is now decently lit where it needs to be lit, but the Cave is convoluted farther down, causing confusing sonar echoes. The explorers quickly retreat back up into Eastern Colony.
The darkness is a symbol of time to the Caerri, and they are frightened but make preparations.
Bio-luminescence spheres are erected, and the small fish that clean garbage are modified to also produce Bio-luminescent chemicals in their skin.
As a symbol of good faith some of the bio-luminescent spheres are given to each of the Caerri's allies, just feed them and they'll live and grow.
The Caerri colonies are now quite well lit!
The Peretics get on with life and uh decide to repopulate to make up for the deaths from the incident. At the former location of Hedbosh a memorial is put up. There is a 24-7 watch on the survivors incase they wake up. Some peretics find a way into a previously sealed off portion of the car and begin to mess with the curious metal strands they find in there.
...I'm hoping they get the car lights activated
One of the survivors wakes up, spouting madness and lunacy. His rambling is recorded but not really thought of as helpful, though it does somehow help spark the car lights on, spooking a largish clan of crustaceans of about 55
OMUs each.

The Kriblits rejoice at the gift of biospheres and one is set aside immediately for second apprentice, soon he is working away diligently, forming hard shell plates for the new allies to incorporate in their morphology.
Deep in the bowels of first lair, master smith is struck by a idea to combat the darkness and perhaps more.
He steals out into the night, making sure no one sees him. When he comes back it is with the body of a Kriblit, freshly liberated from it’s grave. He sets to his secret work.
Deep into the ‘night’ he works, trying to extract the heat enzymes and find out what it is that truly makes them, is it a natural excretion? What makes it work? Can it be reproduced outside the body?
If the master is successful in his studies First Lair will dig out pits to hold this new creation in, into these pit’s the needed food for the chemical reactions will be added. Hopefully a stock of this ‘Kriblit fire’ can be used to light the Lairs in places that are not important enough to rate for a biosphere.
In second lair it is decided that enough is enough, a confrontation with the electric monsters was not wanted, but the warriors of the Kriblits shall NOT cower in fear because the solutions to their problems are giant monsters.
Two groups of warriors set out, one laboring under the weight of all the food they can carry, the other carrying nothing but the shell armor that may protect them from a deadly zap if they fail.
The first group will seek out a lone electric monster, lead by a brave (insane) kriblit warrior they will try to leap onto the back of a monster and gain control. The monster shall be feed all the food it can eat if it obeys the will of the riders. If it disobeys the riders they will try to cause it as much pain as they can. Hopefully this carrot and stick method will lead to it learning or obey.
The second group will try to find the lair of the monsters, there they will, with all stealth, try to steal some of the young or the eggs of the monsters, perhaps if the monsters are brought up in captivity they will be more likely to become domesticated.
The beginings of Kriblit fire have been found by the great Armorsmith! He immediately gives some to a messenger who rushes through the night to give it to the domestication team, with a note that says "EMERGENCY BACKUP. DANGEROUS. DON'T WASTE. -Armorsmith". pits are dug with great speed, as the light is much welcomed, but the Leader seems slightly worried about how much incredible stuff the smith has done compared to him...
Equipped in full armor, Alpha Team sets out to control the uncontrollable! The Crazed Rider jumps at the eel and.....was eaten. He jumped too low and sailed right into the mouth of it as it was eating something else. Alas, but the Backup Rider does not make the same mistake!
The Shell Chainmail sparks with electrical charge, but Rider is unaffected! The Electrorope writhes, trying to shake off the irritating conductor from its body, but he is not moved! the hum of electricity gets louder as the eel gets ever angrier, only listening under the most painful attacks the scout can do to it!
The Shell Chainmail sizzles with electrical charge, but Rider is unaffected! It chomps massive mouthfuls of food as it goes, but eventually requires less exausting blows to control, but soon the entire stock of Food they brought is gone, and it still refuses to listen the majority of the time!
The Shell Chainmail crackles with electrical charge, and begins to fragment! The Rider, panicked that his armor is beginning to disintegrate from the constant electrcity, drops the Kriblet fire jar onto the Electrorope below him on accident!
The Electrorope writhes in major pain!
A surge of electricity disintegrates the fracturing Shell Chainmail, vaporizing the Kriblet Rider! The food carriers are dumb-struck! The Mighty Armorsmith has created something that can make even the titanic Electrorope be wracked by pain! They scoop up what little fell to the sand and fling it onto the eel!
The Electrorope shrieks in agony!
A Massive pulse wave blasts from the dying Electrorope! The Shell Chainmail is blasted by the wave, but just barely holds together! The Kriblet is mostly unaffected!x5
...
....
.....
Standing on the sand in the midst of the now shattered armor and bits of lingering Kriblet fire, are five mostly unharmed Kriblets, and the remains of a single, smallish Electrorope, completely discharged. They have no food, no armor, and no warrior guide left.
But the Kriblet have done the impossible! They have conquered the massive lightning-shooting eels with naught but coral, shell, and chemical fire! Great tales shall be created by the historians!
Hail to the great Kriblet civilization! The Kriblets are now in the Late Dark Ages!
