DIPLOMACY

The Caerri guards fall back to guarding the pipeline except for one, who will acccompany two of the workers to these new creatures. Communication will take place through shapes made by the tentacles of the guard.

The Caerri at the great colony will split it's focus on their first great chore, the creation of new life. Modeled after the fish that were seen nosing around it is small even compared to a Caerri, they are designed to follow simple hormonal commands secreted by the Caerri Colony itself. They will keep everything clean of detritous, will be eaten for food, and when necessary can be used as a distraction for anything attacking the colony.

The other half of the colonies focus goes into making re-usable biological tools, so that instead of each caerri growing their own the may merely link with one of the tools and be able to command it as their own flesh.

In First Lair a golden age bloomed and many new Kriblits were born. Life was good and many were fat and happy, but some were worried for news of Second Lair, hopefully they would get stable soon and send word back to First Lair.

Sorry, I didn't have access to a computer for a while. Also I said north, away from the kelp fields to explore..

A new colony shall be made, on the other side of the Kelp Tree, and higher. 1/2 the Floatunes shall be sent, with most of the materials in the warehouse being used to construct the new village. The old village shall be called "The Grounded", and the new Village shall be called "The Tethered".

DIPLOMACY

The Caerri at the great colony will split it's focus on their first great chore, the creation of new life. Modeled after the fish that were seen nosing around it is small even compared to a Caerri, they are designed to follow simple hormonal commands secreted by the Caerri Colony itself. They will keep everything clean of detritous, will be eaten for food, and when necessary can be used as a distraction for anything attacking the colony.

The other half of the colonies focus goes into making re-usable biological tools, so that instead of each caerri growing their own the may merely link with one of the tools and be able to command it as their own flesh.
The Triath Diplomatic Squad is ordered to continue to approach the creatures, and a large team of explorers are sent to retrieve the spear for further study.

The Caerri and the Triath can now talk to each other in someway.

Caerri: With their knowledge of organics, a colony-controlled trash-eater is swiftly created, but the edibility of it is highly debatable at this point, some even outright saying it is inedible.

Triath: The creature thrashes and causes sizable turbulence to the scouts surroundings, flushing them from the cave, slightly scratched from bumping around. The creature may have to just be ignored until it dies to retrieve the spear, unless a way of holding it down is made. One of the scouts starts looking for a strong ropelike material before expaining his idea, which might not even work. If it does though....

The Peretics send a few scouts to find out what lies beyond the car. Back At Landing Point the Peretics experiment with uses for the liquid leaking out of the car and build pens for the domesticated fishes
Not much is found outside the car, just more coral, sand, shells, and fish. There are some things that look like giant underwater bushes, though, which the scouts head towards. Experimentation ends with one sick Perectic who swallowed some, one nearly invisible at night Perectic who was covered in it, perhaps good for a stealthy warrior organization, and a way to domesticate the fish without losing them to tail-loss, though the last one is fairly exact, too much resulted in nothing but death, too little caused nothing visible by the scientists. Pens are created for the fish, but a large crashing noise is heard from the car rear! When searchers reach it, however, there is nothing but a large hole and shattered coral edges in the center where Hedbosh was to be. looking down the hole finds the majority of the colonists dead, with 5 survivors who had been hanging on to the coral, heavily bleeding from holding on to the razor-sharp edge for so long!

In First Lair a golden age bloomed and many new Kriblits were born. Life was good and many were fat and happy, but some were worried for news of Second Lair, hopefully they would get stable soon and send word back to First Lair.
Word finally arrives from Second Lair, along with a tiny bit of nice food. Underground Travel would be the only way there even if it hadn't been the plan, such a long distance could not be crossed safely on the surface without help; they had had to go nearly halfway out from the middle of the Whale Sands to find a good enough piece of Coral.

A new colony shall be made, on the other side of the Kelp Tree, and higher. 1/2 the Floatunes shall be sent, with most of the materials in the warehouse being used to construct the new village. The old village shall be called "The Grounded", and the new Village shall be called "The Tethered".
The Tethered colony is argued about as the colonists set out: How high up would it be safe to go without losing easy contact with The Grounded colony?

And So the Kriblits started on the first vast undertaking. For the most part the two Lairs made all effort into digging a tunnel under the sands, although they knew that it would most likely be the undertakeing of generations.

The sand mined out will be sorted into two piles, helpful sand that can be used in the cement making or can be melted down for making into objects, and useless sand that will be used to increase the outer walls of First Lair.

The Triath Diplomatic Squad proposes an alliance, and the exploration teams are ordered to go deeper into the cave.

The Peretics horrified at this immediatly send the survivors to the hospital in first landing. A group of 5 warriors descend into the hole to investigate while another five stand guard. All the warriors are clothed in the new stealth bushes. As soon as the survivors are well enough the overseer personally intends to debrief them on what happened. 10 Peretics go into and around the hole to salvage what they can and try to rebuilt a little.

The Caerri are vaguely confused by the alliance concept but it doesn't seem to be hostile so they motion for acceptance. After completing their contact with these strange new creatures they continue laying line for the new colony.

The rest of the Caerri, while happy that the little garbage men are working hard, are vaguely upset about the concept of eating them. Well I guess eating something that indiscriminately consumes organic matter is exactly appealing.

Another full size fish will be created, its belly will be loaded with tools, spare food, and 15 Caerri. As an additional precautionary measure Nematocyst stingers, thicker scales, and more teeth will be thrown into the design to prevent a repeat of the last incident using constructs.

The Floatune decide on a 1 hour trip away from the first colony.

The Grounded citizens will arm themselves with the spears again, for it is time to hunt for new food and materials. They will scour the sea AWAY from the kelp field.

The Grounded citizens will arm themselves with the spears again, for it is time to hunt for new food and materials. They will scour the sea AWAY from the kelp field.
To the north, the Floatune find the Car Remains, but also see the Peretics and hide in case they are dangerous. APPROACH OTHERS? (and in what way?)

The Triath Diplomatic Squad proposes an alliance, and the exploration teams are ordered to go deeper into the cave.
The cave is not very deep past the creature as far as you can tell, but a growing, already massive from your point of view, pool of bright blue blood may be the reason. The creature has obviously been here for sometime.

Caerri and Triath: Allies!

After the symbol for Agreeance is made, news comes from the just completed colony of a giant half-fish monster with hands tearing parts of organic material from the bones! Apparently it dislikes the nematocyst tentacles highly as they were avoided, but why would it do such a thing? The Caerri have not touched them, yet they cause destruction, fright, and panic among the newly founded "Those-who-see-what-may"? The forming of the fish is halted while this problematic thing is debated.

The stealthed warrior guards atop sight the Floating creatures their size, and report back, while the Stealthy Search Team can tell nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps the survivors can enlighten us, if they ever awaken...
The Reconstruction Team find nothing big enough still intact to build with, most of the rusted metal had simply disintegrated on impact, since the least rusted of the metal had been kept to see if it could be re-created rust-free, leaving just the apparently not impact-resistant metal. They take back what little is left, along with the dead Peretics.

First lair becomes a massively defended fortress as digging is underway due to how much of the sand proves to be of no use. Unused bits of coral from Second lair are used as scaffolding for the unreinforced sections, since a Kriblet can only stand the heat of the cement creation process so many times in a single day.

The original colony shall be expanded further, and fortified, and a monument (a towering obelisk) shall be erected in honour of our new pact.

And Lo the Kriblits did dig further. Always keeping a weather eye out for a place of sturdier and more useful sand. If such a place is found it shall be marked for the creation of third lair someday.

Spoiler: Plan (click to show/hide)

The Caerri shall retaliate with all force!  We shall teach these strange beasts to fear us!

The transport fish shall be altered into a Battle fish! The number of nematocyst tentacles shall be tripled, the scales thickened farther, and the 15 Caerri inside shall be warriors with nematocysts. Supplies shall be laid in for aiding the troubled colony.

(The Fish shall be called He-who-walks-behind)
