a) Obligatory reference to the My Little Pony mod.

It's incredibly funny when I forget that I put them in and then try to embark on a terrifying grassland. So much fire.

I didn't personally mod it, but someone who duplicated raws managed to embark as living trees that ate wagon meat.

That led me to the conclusion that duplicating raws is like feeding your computer LSD.
Hi.

Anyway, I think I turned dogs into a hostile civ before. They were really mediocre fighters.

I've recently made egg laying elves, made them tame, and have a fortress subsisting entirely on elf eggs.

Raws or it didn't happen.

Raws or what didn't happen... o_O It's hardly hard to mod a ranged weapon that causes enemies to fly when it hits them.

It's just that I've been trying to make weapons that reliably knocked targets flying in DF 2010 for a while, on and off, and I haven't managed it yet.  So if you managed it, even in the most basic way, I want to see if I can learn from your raws :).

I admit that I haven't tried to do ranged knockback weapons, I was experimenting with melee weapons, so it may be easy.  But, hey, if you've done it I'd still like to see :).
I had knockback on ranged weapons when their ammo was big enough.

I tried modding elves to make them more realistic and longer lived.  One of the things I did was make them take 50 years to reach maturity.  It all seemed to work until I came across an (dusk) elven child, alone, in a store.  Looking for the manager, I finally talked to the kid.

He welcomed me, told me about the store, and asked if I wanted to buy anything.  But when selecting the Trade option I got

"I'M ONLY FOUR!!"

What the? I don't... why is....

WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS, KID?!

They need to punch and roundhouse kick (and scissor kick) you to be real ninja bears. And vomit surikens.

Deon: I could add that. Well, not the shuriken vomiting. I'm not that clever. But I could add the martial arts. Unfortunately, I'm a lazy git.

3: No particular reason, but I direct you to my previous "I'm a lazy git".

That said, I once made bones brewable because my fort had no booze and no seeds and was about to die.

Urist H Christ, that's brilliant. I'm off to mod in bone lager, leather brew and all manner of wonderful things... Wait, couldn't you make drink out of stone? If this is more involved than just tweaking the mead reaction, would you mind posting the raws?

I'd like to say that weirdest thing I've modded in is the My Little Pony civilisation. But it pales in comparison to the weirdness that is making dogs milkable, and the males milkable for semen, with the intention of selling dog semen jelly roasts to the elves. I screwed up the tags so the females were being milked for semen. My dorfs screwed up the plan by devouring the dog semen jelly. But I've been given a few hints on fixing it and I'll see if I can make it work.

That's so fucked up. Awesome.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I turned troglodytes into slaves that you can milk.
They also pull wagons.
I'm going to the circus, aren't I?

I'm planning on making them trainable and have a new caste of troglodyte lay wooden bins.
