Odd things that I have modded in:

  • Mad Scientist's Laboratory custom building
  • Intelligent Vermin
  • Fire Extinguishers as a weapon (still ineffective against actual fire)
  • Ghostbusters themed language [SYMBOL: ] entry
  • H.P. Lovecraft/Cthulhu-mythos themed language [SYMBOL: ] entry
  • Spy movie themed language [SYMBOL: ] entry
  • Heavy-metal themed monsters such as Scumdogs of The Universe, and giant lake trolls
  • An ore that has a chance to yield any metal in the game
Say is the ore you modded in by any chance called randomite?
What about "Wotteheffnium"?

I have the strangest urge to create gigantic flying cuttlefish and bioluminescent trees which produce eyes for fruit. I want to make flesh a building material, and dear god do I ever want Dwarves clad in gem armor riding giant dragonflies into battle. I will have hives of gigantic wasps made from solid ale. I will get Dwarf Fortress high on mods. But unfortunately I'm far too lazy to do any of those things.
I modded in giant cave cuttlefish. Also, wagons are real creatures, can be found in the plains, and are one tile.

Remember those long summers of your childhood? That first kiss in the gardens while crossbows dwarves shoot goblins above your head? The rain of dead birds as the hunters get to work? Truly Spearhills is a paradise.

I modded skulls to pop out, like the guts do by default. After a few attempts in arena mode, I managed to successfully pop out someone's skull, and then sever it so it flew off in an arc. This did not result in brain damage or instant death, despite common sense.

Did you... did you beat them to death with their own skull? Cause you should have totally beat them to death with their own skull.

War trainable cats with 6 paws of Iron, teeth of a ligth green mooded metal (think 2x steel) and 3 tails with spikes of the same green metal in their tips. All of them have Black fur and red eyes. Now I only need a custom icon for them.

I have fruit-bearing ents in My Little Fortress, making them produce eyes as fruit would actually be slightly easier than the slightly baroque method of running creatures and plants in tandem. Bioluminescence is out, unless you just want to describe their bark as cyan or something, the only thing that produces light is the sky.

Actualy, there is one thing you can do. Some tag, it's on goblins and kobalds, and it makes them glow during the night in adventure mode.

Goblins don't use the glowtile.

I know there's a tag that works for vermin that makes them all glowy and blinky.

Yes, that's the tag that makes them vermin. They just teleport in and out of existence.
With goblins it's [GLOWTILE:"]

No. Like GLOW. Fireflies and Pixies do it in vanilla, I think. You can see them farther off even at night in adventure mode. I recall making cave fish do it in a pre-2010 version (In fortress mode it made the underground all blinky even before it was revealed - don't think that happens anymore).

EDIT: apparently it's the same [GLOWTILE:x] tag. There is also a CASTE_GLOWTILE according to the wiki. Rare, Radioactive dwarves, anyone?
