Hi,

I'm not sure if this has been posted.

Anyway, I've made a trade road that has a bend in it.

Like this:

xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx
   xxxxxxx
   xxxxxxx
   xxxxxxx

With the lower part actually meeting the gate of my fortress.  Anyway, whenever a trader comes into my territory, I get a message saying they are bypassing my fortress.  But, then they walk along the path just fine and we trade like merry citizens.  

An odd bug, but there you are.

you need to use the <code> tags, otherwise your post looks just like a solid block of 'x's - making it very hard to troubleshoot the problem.

That said, the message is that the Human wagons cannot get to your fort. The traders with their mules will still be able to get to you, but they only carry a fraction of the total amount of goods you could've gotten if the wagons came too.

Remember that the road has to be 3-wide at all points, and no diagonals.
This:

will work.

Also, make sure to detail any rocks in your road at least once.

does the road /smoothed stone lead directly to your trade depot?

The wagons are 3x3, and if that width isn't maintained the entire distance, and isn't linked directly to your trade depot, they wont come.
