Mining change [0.31.20]?

I just noticed my dabbling/novice miners just dug out every single one of a cluster of jasper opals, while pulverising the surrounding limestone rock. Was that a fluke, or has anyone else noticed this? It's nice if mining micromanagement has been reduced!

It seems gems are harder, if not impossible, for the miners to fuck.

But personally I never thought there was much micromanagement there. Just a few legendary miners are enough for almost any fort, and it's really darn easy to train legendary miners. Just don't try to dig out important ores before they are up to the task...

Well if you remove the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag from dwarves I think they have like 2-4 children each time they give birth. And if you get enough mothers up on the pillars you can probably get a good waterfall going.
Ashes are technically fire-safe.
