I bought a fluffy wambler from the elf merchants and it doest appear in the animals page. You can't mark it available or butcher it or anything. I'm not sure if its supposed to be like this but I figured I'd mention it just in case.

I think fluffy wamblers are vermin. Could that have something to do with it?

They are [PET_EXOTIC], so you'll have to wait for a Dungeon Master before you can do anything with it. They're also [NOT_BUTCHERABLE]. See the wiki page or just look in the raws.   ;)

Though they're not butcherable, dwarves can apparently eat them raw. And ALIVE.

Are they tame?

If so, go into the stocks menu under the animals tab, and then mark them for being adoptable. Some dwarf will come by and adopt them as a pet.

With vermin pets the dwarf will actually carry the pet around, and it will constantly give them happy thoughts. If the fluffy wambler is gone, see who the pet's owner is, then check his inventory.
