Uh... *Scratches middle of back and thinks quickly.*

I had this friend who unscrupulosly downloaded the PDF from the internet, and I was like "No way man!", but then ninja terrorists attacked and they printed off the PDF and used it as a blindfold while they looted my apartment. I was tied up for hours and had nothing to do but read the gear page of the PDF, it was awful, and it wasn't my fault at all.

Is this gonna happen?  If not, I might step up to the GM challenge.

WE JUST NEED THE DAMN SOCIALITE!

If we don't get a socialite then both Tellemurius and I will kill various adorable fuzzy animals it seems.

Rather then holding out for another person who isn't going to join, you should start with fewer characters.  Shit or get off the pot.

You have to have the Socialite, the person deals with the diplomacy and merchants and stuff.

no one, actually pilot would be useless as the engineer would know how to fly.

Did I just get this right?

We're on a spaceship. In space.

The muscle is indispensable, cause obviously nobody else knows how to grunt well or hit people.
The socialite is indispensable, cause obviously everyone views drooling and grunting as good social tactics.
The medic is indispensable, cause obviously everyone grew up on part of border planet where no one gets hurt.
The mechanic is indispensable, okay that one makes actual sense.
The captain is indispensable, again reality does prevail.

But the only class that can be dispensed with is THE FRICKIN' PILOT?

Oh my God, we're all doomed, who's flying this thing?!
...
Oh right, that would be me.

Ok another choice would be someone to play with two characters.

So in a battle situation the engineer is supposed to fly the ship while she tends to engines and repairs plus she mans any potential heavy weaponry?  What will the rest of you do?  Swap jokes and paint each others toenails?

My recommendation would be to just merge the captain with annother role.  I could rewrite Wren to be more captainy if that would be acceptable.  If you dont want to merge the captain with someone, my next suggestion would be merge the medic and the socialite or the socialite and the pilot.

How do you feel about the list of homebrew traits floating around the internets?  I was thinking of adding the minor advantage "Owns a ship" and turning Wren into the financier (but not captain) of the crew and take the minor complication Credo (merciful) to compensate.

Ship Owner [Major/Minor]
You own a ship, or at least a share in one.
Benefit: You own a ship! Or, at the very least, part of
one. Ships are expensive pieces of equipment, and
so can be hard to find—but every now and then you
might find one cheap at a junkyard, put there by
mistake ‘cause it still runs (maybe...), or at an auction
or somesuch. As a Minor Asset, this counts as up to
4,000 Credits towards the value of a ship; as a Major
Asset, it counts as 10,000 credits. Any ‘left over’
Credits are lost; this doesn’t represent actual money
paid towards the ship, but value of ship that lady luck
has decided to make you not have to pay for.
Note: Multiple characters can take this Asset and
stack the benefits together to create an increasingly
large and/or sophisticated ship for their use. If they
take it after the game starts, then they should be
rewarded (soon) with a newly discovered boat—they
shouldn’t also have to pay for it, or at least not very
much. If they pay for one in credits, or the GM gives
them one as part of the game, they DO NOT need
this Asset as well.
