DF Not manually saving

It seems I'm having a little saving problem. It consistently keeps happening and I have no idea why. It's getting to the point where it is becoming fustrating as I am unable to save the game manually and need to wait a season to save it. Also having the same thing you've built/dug out wipped 3-4 times is getting really annoying.
So basically, I'm using the Lazy Newb Pack with a skin and Dwarf Therapist. I'm also running windows 7 if that matters.
When I go to manually save, the game freezes up and my computer's cursor shows it's thinking. It also becomes Not responding for a few moments. After that it goes back to the normal screen as if everything's been saved. Then when I exit and try to load up the game the saves are not there. Anyone have any idea why?

Its a known bug with cleaning objects. I found that if i pause before i try to save it reduces the crashes to about 30% for me. (XP sp3)
I don't know if win7 has an effect.

Damn! If that is the case it's a shame as this is a pretty serious bug in my eyes. I'm almost up to the point of not playing anymore from frustration.

Eh don't worry, I'm sure TD will make things right by fixing the trillions of bugs adding some new broken feature in the next release.

Is it just me or does each civilization I choose on embark always have iron anvils unavailable. I'm beginning to generate maps just to check civilizations ability to stock me properly. -_-

Actually, have you tried just waiting?

I've only had a crash on save once but that was because I had two other high-requirement programs on.
SUre, it does go to 'doesn't respond' but then you should just wait. Though I'll have to warn you, then longest I had to wait was when I had a frozen ocean unfreezing and that was roughly half and hour...
