First of all, don't answer that. But in all seriousness, is it odd that, since I'm working with dwarves, I do everything in base 7 instead of base 10?

Yes, because that's a rather awkward base and isn't useful when playing the game (or doing anything else).

But, thinking about it, I do bedrooms in multiples of 7, but with an extra 2 at 14.  Is that a base of any type?

Well, my bedrooms go 7 per side per hallway, bringing me to 14. My graveyard has 7 graves in a row on each side of those hallways, and I usually have 7 workshops per material type set up in one section.

That's nothing. I kill off immigrants until the incoming wave is a multiple of 5, spend painstaking amounts of time making all my stockpiles 5 tile crosses, make all my hallways 5 tiles across (actually quite useful), all my room sizes are multiples of 5, and only trade to merchants goods with a value that is a multiple of 5.

Oh, and i start off by finding a way to kill 2 of my starting dorfs

That's hardly "base 7". You're just doing things in multiples of 7, or 7 at a time.

Base is just the term used for counting systems. Base 10 is what you use in every day life.

Yeah, this AFAIK. Base numbers != working work multiples.

Base 7 numbers with their base 10 equivalents:

1 : 1
10 : 7
100 : 49
1000: 343
10000: 2401

Or, with your examples:
1 : 1
10 : 7
20 : 14


At any rate, 7 and 14 would certainly be fairly round numbers in base-7, I guess.

I don't think I've ever been in a game community that was this obsessed with specific numbers. Not that I'm surprised.

Off-topic question. How do you count in base 1?
