Forum RP works if people write long elaborate posts, which I suck at.

And which few people there seem to do. Not to mention all the threads that start off with opening posts that have no content. I really have no idea why that's even allowed (things like roll-to-dodge games that start with some post like "You play a character! Go!" or something equally content-free).

Forum RP isn't bad. just need some limits.

This. I've seen threads in FG&RP that accumulate several pages of posts per hour. Forums are not well-suited to that sort of real-time, single-sentence-message play, and it's also rather difficult to keep track of or moderate.

It is good for the very descriptive sort though.

Since we all know which thread is being talked about, I have to note that for the most part very little description actually occurs. As has already been mentioned, forums are best for descriptive roleplay, so I'm not sure why you guys are playing in this way. I could definitely see a reason if you preferred descriptive RP, but that does not seem to be the case. And the rate at which the thread expands suggests that perhaps IRC RP would be more suited to the style of game that's being played.

From what I've read there, there also seems to be some uh... jarring... segues between people doing different things, and often nobody has any idea where anybody else is. To me it seems that the GM would have better control of things if things were flowing in a medium more like IRC, even just for storytelling purposes. It also holds the enormous benefit of allowing the game to progress forwards much more quickly (even compared to the ridiculous expansion rate of the thread itself).

Idk, but I'm disappointing I lack it as well. Though that's likely because my cats constantly cling to either residents or beds, thus have next to no pathing and therefore do not affect performance outside of pinning people.
