My dwarves seem to refuse to wear new clothes after old clothes wear off totally. So i get a full fortress of nudists. Is that okay ?:)

Not much you can do except for assigning them all to a military squad that requires them to put on clothes.

Known bug. It's ok except when contaminants get involved, e.g. FB blood that kills you if it touches you.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

I've also heard, but not observed myself, that it can be a problem in cold area forts where dwarves will develop frostbite.

But yah, @OP, known bug. And if you do try to assign clothing using the military, you won't be able to do so for your wood cutters/miners/hunters, as assigning them to the military is also buggy.

Isn't there a minor mood hit for being naked as well?

it's not a terrible problem unless in situations involving harsh temperature, FB, and skulking theft.
i once ended up with enough leather just to equipe everyone in full leather armour.

Isn't there a minor mood hit for being naked as well?

My personal experience says no. There has never been clothings in any of my forts for almost half a year now (in real life time) and I have never seen any of that thoughts.

IIRC it's to do with economy.
since it's turned off, dwarves cannot claim clothes.

This is not true. They claim new clothes but dont don them on.

arh right,
glitched memory  :(

still, i've seen bad thoughts from wearing worn clothes.
but normally i read their happiness from DT, rather than through [ v ][ z ] so dont really know if the info on wiki is obsolete or not.

Dwarves currently are not supposed to get unhappy thoughts from being naked as a cover-up for this bug at present.

Dwarves are never naked, their beards and body hair always cover it up.

Clothing can deflect some minor attacks from wildlife, so it's generally a good idea.
