as with most people I started on mayday but then switched to the curses_square_16x16 that comes packed with the game.  I can not stand having a distorted fortress.  I think Tile sets are great for getting into the game but real Dorfs use ASCII

On the subject of tilesets, I'm a basic tileset man/dorf; it's the one I was raised on and hey, it's got that dorf atmosphere.

I think ASCII is better and I understand it, but it gives me headaches :(

So I use mayday.
