They don't empty it. I won $1000 in a comp 4 years ago. I can't access it. I want to spend it on something I want. I'm tired of saving.

well in 2 years its yours anyways ^^ probably they want you to save it for a car or college? ^^ evil devils they are^^

Invest in some stocks, or throw it in a mutual fund?

Buy a gaming console or a few games that you've been eying.  Maybe a peripheral or two.

If you have debt, you could use the money to pay down that debt.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Give it to your parents. You are going to want a car or college much more than an overpriced videogame which you can obtain from the usual sources anyway.

If only you had $100 more.  You could buy a Time Hat.

Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Well, saving money isn't hurting you, now is it? As you said yourself, you don't know what to do with it. I'd put 200 of it in the bank and keep the remaining 50 quid around in case I come across something I want/need. That way I'm sure that I'm not accidentally wasting 200 on something pricey I don't need, while still having some cash to do stuff with.

Get a current account.  I'd do this regardless of whether you plan to put your $250 in there or not.

Alternatively: dump it in your tub, and wait in it with a paintball gun to shoot the first person who comes into the bathroom.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious one.

Hardware for your PC. You can spend all of it on a top of the line video card that will last you 2 to 4 years.

Donate it to charity. Seriously, that stuff can save LIVES and wasting it on stuff you don't even really need is a pretty big jerk move. GiveWell is a good place to look for where the money will do the most good; remember that what you want is to make the world a better place.
