Axe --> either head or lower body.

Really dangerous opponents, or those likely to gang up on me (such as bogeymen) get the same, but with a step back every once in a while, to keep 'em in front of me.

I wait for them to get close (or rush to the most dangerous (read: ranged) foes), then start hacking limbs off like some psychopathic midget turbine of death and bleeding. Or, if it's a really dangerous enemy, go for an instant kill ASAP. Or maybe just choke them out. Death by strangling tends to give you a lot of agility, and being fast allows you to hack off even more limbs.
Now I can't get rid of that awesome image of your adventurer strangling 4 enemies at once.

i like dual wielding a spear and a long sword. my usual attack is stab stomach then slash limb or head if open. its really efficient if you dont want missing those opportunity attacks when your spear gets stuck in a monsters gut plus, its awesome

For bandits and bogeymen I use a simple strategy. Funnel them all into a straight line, and then proceed to kill them as they come at me. My megabeast and semi megabeast strategy is to stop them from laying a finger on me by crippling their legs, making them vomit and making them winded. Titans can range from just poking them to make them fall apart, to being burnt to death due to the fact that titans made out of fire are badasses.

I usually try to knock them down, remove their weapons and then I proceed to remove each individual small bodypart (fingers, toes, teeth, ears, nose, ETC) before moving up to the larger parts, all the while carefully making sure they don't bleed to death.

I always use sword. You can stab them in lower body to make them sick, stab then in upper body to pierce their lungs and chop off their limbs. If opponent is strong, I stab them in the head to kill them, and if my opponent is weaker, I slash their head off and carry it as a trophy. Oh, and I carry some spears to throw them at archers.

I dual wield a pick and hammer. Just aim for the face and you do fine.

I'm a halberd-y kind of guy (or I just mod my spears to have a slashy attack 'cause I think it looks cool), so I usually have sort of a prioritization system with my targets. If I can get the neck or head without much difficulty, that usually goes first. If not, I try to target arms to disarm (heehee) through dismemberment or nerve severance. If neither of the two above areas are viable, I go for the legs--they can't chase me down if they only move about 1/3 or 1/4 as fast. If nothing else works, I'll probably go for the lower body. With enough strength and a good enough slashing weapon, the lower body could just come straight off. If not, I'll at least either cause nausea, which slows, or, better yet, spill guts, which is almost always a death sentence by bleeding out.

Nowadays, I generally don't throw much because I don't get much more than a few bruises, and I usually mod tissues to heal really quickly. If I do have to fight at a range, I'll usually just go for a bow and arrows (yes, I do usually use a human--I'm just not masculine enough for a dorf).

Finally, as for just how often I make contact with the bad guys, I'll backpedal and throw/slash if my adventurer isn't that good at this whole "fighting" thing yet. If not, I'll just go to town on the poor bastards trying to kill me.

Orite, I forgot about wrasslin'. I generally won't wrestle unless if whomever I'm fighting just won't take a hit for whatever reason. If they're just that dodge-y, I'll usually wait for a chance to knock them down and then go for the strangle. But all this is just if I'm fighting seriously. If I'm feeling particularly sadistic (and I usually only feel sadistic towards jerkfaces who kill my companions), I'll probably break all of their limbs and maybe try to chop off their hands just to be a dick. I actually remember once meeting a bandit whose arm I chopped off in a previous encounter. As soon as he appeared in his ambush, his gloves for that arm fell right off. It was enjoyable.

I'll wait for em to come to me, hack the the lower leg/foot, and then it's an instant decap.

If I wanna be flashy I stab/slash at impossible targets for a moment, just to make the log look cool, then go in for a "lucky" slash around the mid-section, finishing it off with a pommel to the skull...killing/knocking them unconscious.

My favorite is my "Bruce Lee" characters. Always elves, cause they're squirrelly bastards. I'll kick/punch the weapon out of their hand and start turning their face into a bowl of mashed taters.

how do you do that? i can only grab-interact-gain possession of the weapon...

with my kicking dorf i need usually a lot of rounds to drive the skull into the brain, and only after the opponent has been knee-capped and strangled unconscious... maybe punch are more effective than kicks?

sometimes i've also tried throwing opponents but meh, it's seems the same as takedown...

use look to find what hand has their weapon...kick/punch THAT hand. a mid game character should be able to break/mangle it with a well placed hit. And besides, the more hits on a defenseless opponent the better, raises your skill more :D

I like to play outsiders and train up my knife and sneaky skill. I creep around naked ant cut throats, then butcher my target and eat it's heart.

My priorities are:

1) Headshot if possible.

2) Anything to put the person on the ground.

3) Anything to destroy a vital organ, especially the heart.

4) Other limbs.

Against bogeymen, I usually try to bite off their lower bodies.

1) Grab an enemy by their lincloth.
2) Gain posession (ouch).
3) Clobber to death with it.

Against bogeymen, I usually try to bite off their lower bodies.
Yummy.
