I'll put together a "miscellaneous weapons" squad just for you two and anyone else who might join in the future.

Could I be Dwarfed as a hunter, I prefer to be named Noshtath.

Once I have a spare dorf I'll add you to Alkhemia's marksdorfs. I've never really bothered with hunting, but I'll see if we have enough bolts to spare.

. Okay it' been another year and we have the beginnings of a defense system under construction. The palisade is priority 1 after the last ambush, and our team of seven have diligently defended the fort against a double ambush of 12 goblins (granted, 6 fell to cage traps). They're training in the temporary arena, fueled with the latest catches from our traps. The woodcutters are definitely less enthusiastic now. The workshops are surviving without their roofs for now, and they'll probably be that way until the palisade is functional and we've fortified the gates a bit. The Trade Depot has been integrated into the road system and a roof built over it though. Other than these things there hasn't been much else built. (Oh, and I updated Stonesense. Full map screenshots don't work with this version though, but everything of note has been captured)

I wasn't joking about the 12 goblins lol. I've yet to look over who they were but one dorf's been hospitalized and another's bleeding out in the forest while the peasants draw straws over who must go fetch him. Other than that we did surprisingly well!



The ambush opened with a goblin demonstrating its savagery on one of the guard dogs.



But he was avenged! :'D



A screenshot of mid-battle. Of note is Karakzon bleeding, NoshTath arriving late, Bowie running away from the goblin Zolak and AHra actually fighting. I can't recall who the other dorf is. You have to give NoshTath credit for standing over Karakzon and protecting him from another goblin whilst the others chased down that Zolak.

All six of the cage traps on the bridge were successful! Unfortunately I was unable to raise the bridge as the lever was being relocated at the time of the ambush.

Karakzon was hauled to the makeshift hospital (incidentally, it doubles as a graveyard) and the other injured dorf is still bleeding all over the nice scenic field. WhO iS tHe InJuReD DoRf??!?? TuNe In nExT tImE aNd SeE!!!!!!

Nice that I protected Karakzon, but I'm wondering if he is going to survive, since that part about the Hospital doubling as a graveyard.

I'm pretty easy-going as to what career, 'long as there's booze. Maybe a spear or sword dwarf? Warriors get all the hot Armok-worshipping dwarfbabes.
