The vampire turns to Ragnar. “As far I know, there are still a bunch of bottles of good wine I made earlier left.” She goes to her coffin and rummages around in it, throwing an jealous glance at the new sarcophagus in passing. “Here, have one of my healing powders instead. You can probably use it after today's unpleasantness. I wonder when this place will stop smelling like burnt troll fur?”
Action: 1 healing dust to Ragnar

Shift 1:
Miran searches for ingredients at the bottom of the river. After spending much of yesterday dug under, she can really use the bath. Once she has enough materials, she returns to her workshop to make more healing concoctions, sipping on one of the bottles of bloodwine as she works.
Action: make more healing dust.

Remembering the animal she and the others brought back to the dungeon, she decides to check up on it. Finding it still alive, un-eaten and un-burnt, she decides to sacrifice another healing dust to treat its advancing sickness. It wouldn't do for her food supply to die from an infected leg wound.
Action: use 1 healing dust to treat the convenient source of blood

Shift 2:
As Miran climbs into her coffin, she wonders if she could get a fancier one somewhere. This has nothing to do with sarcophagus envy, surely.
Action: nap

Shift 3:
Miran thinks about the local wood supply, and how getting more isn't as safe as it could be. In a bout of inspiration, she dashes off to her workshop to brew a regeneration potion. She brings the concoction to a nearby shrub, trims off a number of its branches, and then puts a few drops onto its roots.
Action: make regeneration potion, see if it can make plants regenerate for wood production

Miran takes a moment out of her schedule to call the others together. She addresses all who are willing to listen. “Excuse me, can I have a moment of your time? I can't help notice that the dungeon is not any safer than when I wandered first in here weeks ago.”

She points in the direction of the burnt ladder. “Intruders keep attacking from up there, or the frog room, or the river, and now we even have a demonic portal. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other ingress points we don't even know about yet! We really should build a safe area.”

Her expression turns into a frown. “Also, traps. Traps and expendable cannon fodder. We need stuff that kills intruders without us having to go into danger. Almost as many of us as of the enemy have died in our battles so far, so we should avoid fair fights. Or at least stack the deck in our favour as much as possible.”

“I suggest that from now on, we all dedicate at least one shift per day to improving dungeon safety, rather than just pursuing our personal projects - delaying them a bit is better than getting killed. We could even do that shift all at the same time so we can cooperate for larger projects. A good first step would be finding out what everyone can contribute.”

She points her thumb at her chest. “Myself, I can provide various poisons and other harmful concoctions for use in traps. I also have a little skilled at sewing in case cloth or leather components are required. Finally, I can probably apply my knowledge of animal traps to come up with snares and pitfalls to secure our home.” The vampire scratches the back of her blonde head. “Oh, and I could help with hauling stuff around if it should become necessary.”

Shigon scratched his chin.

"Erm, yes. Defense is always something we've suffered for.

I'll caution you that trying to wage battle without actually fighting will likely be difficult or impossible, however. I would second stacking the deck, not attempting to avoid playing.

As for what I can do, I have some minor skill in masonry; I could probably cut blocks and fashion them into a barricade, ideally with slots to fire on intruders. One of our primary issues seems to be knowing there are intruders afoot, so some sort of trap alarm could aid with making such a barrier useful.

Otherwise I am knowledgeable in the ways of demons, but I doubt I could acquire some without cost, and certainly not without research. I can also smith metals and work with gemstones, if we had any of either.

You know, dealing with necessary tasks has been a weak spot of ours in general. I wonder if we should expand your suggestion to say that until we feel there's nothing left to do, everyone should spend a shift sleeping, a shift doing what we feel needs doing as a whole, and a shift doing whatever they please."

Bernard, leaning against a nearby wall, nodded. "That's fair. I'm an enchanter, as some of you may know, so if I got some help I'd probably be able to rig a corridor to have flumes of flame or something, activated by a wand or something like that. I'll begin work on something like that." Bernard yawns, stretches, and moves to the communal bedroom. "For now though, rest."

Shift 1: Sleep
Shift 2: Start to research A 'Triggering wand', A wand that triggers magical traps when used
Shift 3: Continue the research.

Bernard looked at the feathered mage wand that he had. He understood its purpose, and so, he used that as a base, looking at the enchantments that held the charge within, and the 'trigger' that caused the wand to use its healing power. Sighing softly, he sat down at his enchanting workshop, and started to look into wands as a whole...

Miran glances over at the enchanter. "Do you think it would be possible to enchant something so that it shows what's happening in a remote place? If so, we could have a single guard room to supervise all known entrances."

Silas doesn't feel like working today. In fact, he doesn't feel like doing anything today. "Why do these things always happen to me? They could happen to anybody, anybody in the world, but these things always happen to me." He sighs, then continues to mutter to himself. "Look on the bright side, Silas. At least there aren't any trains here." He shudders. "I hate trains. Masty things. Always running people over when they least expect it. They're evil. Evil I say!"
Shift one: Silas rants about trains
Shift two: SCIENCE!
Shift Three: Eat, then sleep.

Mirran is inconvenienced by numerous Pentagrams blocking her path, but Shigon erases some of them.

Day 33

Brimstone seals off the demon gate with a pentagram, now demons, spirits and undead and such cannot get through. He researches mole demons further (+84/200)

Ragnar drinks some alcohol,(-1 alcohol) and is treated with healing powder by Mirran, healing him thoroughly. (-2 healing powder). He smooths much before sleeping and dreaming

Mirran (+160$ alchemy ingredients, -240$ alchemy ingredients +3 healing powder), Mirran also treats the sick Okapi animal with a healing powder (-1 healing powder) it gets better, and is no longer about to die. Mirran will now take its blood, it seems like a good long term solution. After sleeping,  Mirran produces a regeneration potion, and uses a tiny bit of it to see if it would regenerate a plant or fungus... She damages some shrubs and a few drops accelerates the healing of wounds young and old, it even gets a little bigger overall. But for full results it would require a full potion.

Shigon studies the Toad statue, sometimes the imps gather around him, other times they run off to work. After observation, the whole situation could be interpereted several ways. The imps are resting or otherwise idle, the imps are meditating or silently praying to the statue, or the imps are receiving commands or otherwise communicating with the statue.

Bernard the enchanter begins research on 2 new enchantments, both will work, he is certain, to some extent. (triggering wand research+16/100) (Scrying orb+16/100)

Silas RANTS ABOUT TRAINS, even the imps seem to avoid him, But then he seizes and hauls several creatures to his workshop for experimentation. He creates a feeble and hunchbacked assistant crossing a bat and fungus. It is round on stumpy legs and with a twisted fury face but it has vital opposable thumbs! and excellent hearing. his name is Tito.

The Mummy claims a room, and an inscribed fine bowie knife, and crafts a sheath for it, Then gathers unused scrap  clothing and reassembles it into an ugly thick turban. (-small pantaloons +ugly thick turban)

Ork Maddoc colludes with the mad scientist to create a flesh golem...

Sprite farms +8 plump helmets

Miran asks the others "Are we going to start fortifying now? I suggesting starting by building a wall to block the pitwards entrance of the smelter, forge, and enchantry room and making a new tunnel from it to the farms instead."

Miran heads over to the sprite, who is pretty good at getting plants to grow fast and strong. She suggests that the druid plant a tree so that it can be harvested for wood, made to regenerate with a potion, and harvested for wood again.

Shift 1:
The vampire stands ready to assist with projects to make the dungeon safer. Should nobody have need of her skills, she will set traps in the tunnels outside the frog room – hard to avoid and easy to topple arrangements of rock that will produce a racket when disturbed and warn the dungeon's crew about approaching intruders.
Action: help with dungeon improvement labour if available, otherwise go set traps

Shift 2:
Miran heads over to the dungeon's new mad scientist to have a look at him. She quickly gets tired of his antics and departs toward her coffin, but not before leaving him with some of her hair and nail shavings. Who knows, perhaps he can get something useful out of adding vampiric components to his experiments?
Action: naptime

Shift 3:
Having addressed the dungeon's wood resource situation – if her plan pans out, anyway – Miran wonders if she can't do anything about the severe lack of metal. The transmutation of lead to gold is one of the greatest goals of alchemists anywhere, but she doesn't have any idea where to even start. Not to mention that she also lacks lead, and gold isn't a very useful metal in any case. Well, producing metal as such isn't exactly necessary.Anything with the properties of metal – durable and holds an edge well – would be just as good for making combat equipment and tools. Oh, and of course it would be good if the raw materials were abundant.
She looks around. The dungeon seems to have an abundance of dirt, mostly. Well, you can make glass from sand. Glass is nice. Hard, shape-able, pretty, but not exactly durable. Hmm. She starts taking notes. Perhaps a concoction that, when added to the molten substance, removes its fragility? How would she go about that? It would have to be magical, of course. Perhaps if you consider melting down the sand metaphorically killing it... yes... addition of vampire blood... bring it back from the dead better and stronger than before...
Cackling madly, the vampire starts her research in earnest.

Action: research metal substitute (vitae-alloyed glass)

"I don't approve of walling things off just yet. We need to channel invaders, not try to stop them."

Shift 1: Carve stone blocks

Shift 2: Go to the hourglass room to research summoning some sort of beguiling, mind-altering demon that can enslave adventurers

Shift 3: Sleep

In the Scientists' lab, there is utter silence. Two beings stand there, staring at the other. One, possibly the most unlucky creature in the universe. The other, a hunch-backed amalgamation of bat and fungus with the rather odd name of "Tito". Neither of them notices the vampiress come in and leave biological samples at one of the lab stations. The silence drags on, having passed the point of awkward long before.
"So...." Silas attempts to start a conversation, but words uterly fail him. Silence reigns once more, and both beings shift uncomfortably, a state of awkwardity restored by the minotaurs' attempt to start conversation. A few minutes pass before something else happens. Silas desperately looks around the room for an excuse to break the oppressive quiet. His eyes fall onto Mirran's hair. "Right, then!" His gaze meets Tito's once more. The minotaur raises an eyebrow, and his new assistant nods, answering the unspoken question. The calm shatters as both delve into their work with pent-up energy held in check by their anxiety.

Shifts One & Two: Silas and Tito stare at each other awkwardly, unsure of what to do next.
Shift Three: Silas and Tito begin experimenting with Mirran's biological samples that she so kindly donated.
