They were clearing the way for the invasion of eastern US. Right now three million infantry, six thousand gorillas, and thirteen thousand centuars were in there way to land on  the shore. Jack walks up into the control room, and gets support on the line " This is Commander Jack O'neil of the US invasion force. I would like to ask for reinforcements of fifty thousand harpies, and three hundred dreadnoughts. " they told him it would be a bit before they arrived so all he had to do was wait.

Bryn watched as the bombers unloaded on the GDI. The attack was so swift and unexpected that the GDI had no time to counterattack before almost all of their tanks and AA support was in ruins. He gave a signal to his squad and they jumped from the descending dropship the caldrun of blood and snow below them.

Jack hearing messages that the Desert Rangers were attacking the GDI aimed half the Hydras at the Desert ranger forces, and began bombarding them.
