As for your concern regarding Pandar, it's not so much a defense as it is a curiosity. I find it strange that Steve mentioned Pandar and then Akhier almost immediately voted him. Do you feel differently? Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but one can never be sure."

He turned his attention to Akhier.

"Indeed it did. Other than that, however, did you have any reason to cast your vote?"

"It is, perhaps, an artifact of this board. It seems to have some residual magic on it. Perhaps it reads into a past life or somesuch. In any case, I think I have a solution."

   "My reason was to get us voting before midnight.
We where doing nothing and nothing was being done
so if we wanted to get out of here within the next
century someone needed to give a good kickstart. I
actually think that Darvi is more of a menace then
Pandar but random is as a random does and in
fact I will go after Darvi now that I think about it." and
with that Akhier wipes off his vote for Pandar
and puts his mark under Darvi's name.

[Darvi]

"Who now? You mean me? Huh. Rght after I wrote your name on the board you start writing mine. Interesting. Very interesting"
He draws a couple more lines.

   "You keep mysteriously writing in that notebook of
yours. Observing us without saying much but the second
I vote for someone there you are right behind me waiting
to vote for me."

[Darvi]

"Is that what you think? After declaring the death sentence on a possibly innocent man only so you could have dinner a few hours earlier? I think you're underestimating me."

   "OH, INNOCENT IS HE? and what praytell makes you
so sure that he is innocent?

[Darvi]

"Trying to twist my words are you? I said possibly innocent. And either way it's your job to prove he's guilty, not mine to do the opposite. My guess is that you are trying to distract the others from your giveaway."

   "and I suppose this it to distract us from your notebook?
I don't know you people, I have been in this town for months
but almost all of it has been in the kitchen. A lot of you just
came into town recently as well. This was a fairly peaceful
place till this brouhaha. All I want to do is study Dragons. I
now ask you all what was your purpose for being in this town?
I am here as a stopover to the mountains in the far north where
rumors have it Dragons still fly."

[Darvi]

"I live here, do I need any other purpose? Also, my notebook is of hardly any relevance to the case. Your behavior, on the other hand, is"

[Akhier the Dragon hearted]

   "You live here and yet you are in here with us. Is
there a reason for that? Might you have had a grudge
against the victim or some such?"

[Leafsnail]

"Well now things are picking up. I won't hold anything against you, Thrakor. Unless, of course, it deserves to be."

He turned his attention towards Akhier. "Is there another reason you want Pandar dead other than some random algorithm? Or were you just trying to cause activity?"

Without pausing, he turned towards Steve. "And you, why Pandar specifically?"

Finally, he walked over to the chalkboard and wrote down Osiris.

"Tell me Osiris, you've been even quieter than I have lately. Care to offer your opinion on those being voted?"

Excuse me, Mr William, but is I find it far more suspicious when someone tries to create the illusion of activity.  Maybe sleeping men will sleep, but I've found that someone who's merely pretending to do something productive is far more likely to pull a knife on me a few moments later.

It also seems like bad form to try and redirect attention to someone else who you feel has transgressed worse than you, as if to try and distract people from your own suspicious actions.
