I forgot where the link is, but Sirocco's piano version of the DF theme.
This one?

That is quite an excellent composition.

This goes for any game I play, but the music I use is a collection of Hearts of Iron II, Europa Universalis 3 and Sins of a Solar Empire music, as well as a handful of classical tracks (the whole of Dvorak's 6th Symphony, for example). I have about 7 hours of all that, so I never get through all of it.

Mostly been listening to Turisas for a while now. I like to imagine that this song echoes in the dark fortresses of my enemy whenever I fight back the green tide with my ironclad militia.

When Zalisiden had been brought to its knees:

Maenad Battle

This was the song of Zalisiden's doom.

Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy audio most of the time, lately watched whole 10 seasons of friends this way, took a few months. Won't bore you as fast as music if you ask me.

Music? I'm way too nerdy for that. I download and listen to audio of people roleplaying instead. Pen and paper roleplaying that is.

There are various sites playing various games, but the one I visit the most is yog-sothoth.com as they specialise in Call of Cthulhu.

For some reason their download section only has one complete campaign available at the moment (Horror on the Orient Express), but they've done several others (Tatters of the King being my favourite). The threads still exist in their forum, though I haven't checked the links in them. There's also a fun one-shot called The Pale God

Another site I've used is rpgmp3.com. They have a variety of games, and I quite enjoyed their playthrough of Warlords of the Accordlands.

I want to hear this played on a pipe organ.
I can just imagine a dwarf in the center of a fortress, playing it on the organ, laughing maniacally whilst everyone else in the fortress goes about their grotesque, horrible lives.

Imagine you're driving a car. Push the gas pedal to the floor. Close your eyes. Remain this way for ten minutes while turning the wheel at whim. This is Dwarf Fortress.
I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

Dear Urist: I, the overseer, appreciate your point of view about the danger that an unarmed goblin can represent at the other side of a fortification when you try to kill it with a ballista, but, as you know, you're not paid to think. And a mindless worker is a happy worker, so shut up and do your job.

You are a Hero, an fantasy adventure with dragons, mages, ninjas and Norse mythology

I always listen to the default music. I feel it's important that I'm driven insane while commanding my dwarfs.

I mostly listen to video game remixes and anime OSTs.  Samurai7's soundtrack fits much better than one might expect.  I also listen to the Crystal Chronicles soundtrack, various anime openings, and LoZ music from OverClocked Remix.

Lame excuse? 'Having a drink instead' is the dwarfiest reason to not get something done, short of accidentally flooding your home with magma. Or intentionally flooding your home with magma.

When I'm in a classical mood it'll be Puccini, Rossini, or Wagner.

My "Dwarf Fortress" playlist contains tracks from The Weathering Continent, Casshern Sins, Berserk, Chrono Trigger, Hellboy, Starcraft, Super Mario Galaxy, Fable, and Future Tactics.  I also pulled a few various "doing stuff" RTS-ish sounding tracks from the Bourne Identity series, Iron Man, and a couple others.

I give DF a high processor priority, which means playing music while it's unpaused causes the music to skip. I'd probably play electronic music if my computer wouldn't shit itself, though. The Twelves, Starfucker, some DJ Champion, a bit of Radiohead, Citizens!, and a few others are what I've been 'digging' lately.
