Question: If I were to pledge some cash, would it be taken from my bank now, or on April 8th?  If it would be the latter, then I'm definitely pledging $75.

FAQ says it's only taken after the deadline, so I'm donating now.  I wonder if the dev tools will be separate to the game and possible to pass on to others?

Definitely following this...I like those ALife stuff.

And those Dev tools...Who knows? If that game is to be nearly as modable as Creatures 3, most of those tools(Likely exception with gene editors, as is the case with C3) would be developed in no time with such a dedicated community which is, honestly, not a tiny bit less awesome than many of us here as I know it. It really takes something to still have community-wide events after all those years.

This community is CRAZY dedicated (see the 5 guys who each donated $1000 to have lunch with Steve) so I imagine fan-made tools will definitely be out. Who knows what Steve'll do, but it sounds like he's very interested in being as open as he reasonably can with it all.

Probably didn't want to spend too much development time roaming the country side having lunch with nerds. Don't blame him

He has said that he didn't want to spend forever travelling to have lunch with everyone (although he didn't expect anyone to donate that much either).

5 isn't a limit, though. More than 5 people have donated that much, they just didn't do it fast enough to get the lunch reward.

Don't you have a debit card or something to withdraw cash with?  If it's a Visa debit, there shouldnt be a problem.

Which oddly should be accepted as a MasterCard, but is not by Amazon.

I could order a creditcard, but am not comfortable with dept
or paying ad infinitum for something I don't intend to use on a principle/philosophical basis.

Don't you have a debit card or something to withdraw cash with?  If it's a Visa debit, there shouldnt be a problem.

It's actually rare-ish outside of the US for debit cards to be backed by credit card companies strangely. Not sure why. Bullshit is probably why. I have this same problem.

I live in Wales and pretty much every bank gives you a debit card that can be used online as standard.
