Wild animals don't drown

I guess the ice melted under this deer while it was walking, and it just sits there.

Are you sure it's in water? "k" over it and see if the little guy's on a mud tile or such.

It says sandstone. But the real question is, why is there a sandstone square in the middle of the river?

Perhaps wild animals should die of hunger if they don't eat enough plants / animals or something.

I had that problem with a fox once...
It was a girl fox.
She had been a very busy girl fox.
Then i had the problem with many many foxes...
so i built a passage out of statues, and a single bridge to their island, and channeled them all through a row of cage traps.
More pets for my dwarfs!
