So what, this game is basically just the old DOS game Sword of the Samurai?

I was talking about importing alimunim.
And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

Nah, it's more like CK than Sword of the Samurai, though a Sword of the Samurai remake would be awesome. Actually, I decided to play Sword of the Samurai today and started Let's Playing it.

I'm probably getting it, but I need to get a new computer that can handle it first.

For some reason I thought of Sengoku Rance when I saw the subject. I'll quietly sneak out of this thread now.

A review of the gameplay and stuff would be nice.

Well, basically, I would think, it is much like their other games, but with one major difference - it is character driven, rather than country driven. At least if it is as much like Crusader Kings as I think it is.. For example, you play as a family, rather than a state, and if your bloodline ends, so does your game (as opposed to EUIII where you just got a new monarch if he died). It also has a bigger focus on character relations.

I'm not at all sure about specifics, so I guess I'm not helping much. There is demo out, though, which you could try. I would myself, but can't run it unfortunately.

You're not alone there.

OT: This looks interesting. I've never played any of the games it's supposed to be like, so I don't know what to expect. But I like Japanese history (please don't shoot me), especially around this time.

If you hang out in the [DFC] teamspeak3, they are playtesting through it right now and you can listen to them (fail).

Well, we've had a massive rebellion do to Silent, who failed miserably when Gale, who thoought Silent was joking about rebelling, rejoined the loyalists and caused the troops loyal to him to disband.

We then elected to exile him to an island to contain him.

A tutorial for the demo would have been nice.
However the hints do enough I suppose.. But I have no idea how to do things.
Ah well.. when the game is actually released a proper tutorial would have been made.. I hope.

I seriously have no idea what's going on, but everyone is getting ninja'd and people are dying and backstabbing each other and it's absolutely hilarious to listen to.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

6:21 PM - KaelGotRice: they just murdered each other, then Int tried to take over the clan, then Silent Thunder blocked his power play by killing Int's leader with ninjas, then everyone rebelled
6:21 PM - KaelGotRice: Gale ended up in charge
6:21 PM - KaelGotRice: then
6:22 PM - KaelGotRice: instead of demanding subjugation from Silent so he couldn't fuck up anything again
6:22 PM - KaelGotRice: Gale subjugated to Silent by accident, so Silent took charge of the entire clan
