6:22 PM - KaelGotRice: Gale subjugated to Silent by accident, so Silent took charge of the entire clan

Accidental Subjugation, happens everyday just like accidental invasions and accidental genocide. :D

Only because you were briefly in charge. Twice.

Well I can say definitivily that the Single Player game is good, ususal Paradox standard, but THIS, (as well as CK2 when it comes out most likley) is THE Paradox game to play Multiplayer. The other games are fun, but nothing is better than  having a bunch of people in the same clan with their own ambitions, threatening to tear everything apart.

For some reason I thought of Sengoku Rance when I saw the subject. I'll quietly sneak out of this thread now.

Lol, fell for this too, even though I was quite familiar with the Sengoku Jidai history stuff.

Anyway, looks like the game's out, but I've never really liked games based around the Sengoku Jidai... there's not really a lot of cultural variety around that period, or at least no games actually highlighted the cultural differences. There is definitely a lot of politics during that period which many strategy games tend to miss out on. But sounds like it got that right. I'll check it out later when I'm in the mood for strategy games again.

Yeah, living in Greenland requires patience.

Found this on the Steam forums as well:

Demo. I'll be checking this out when I get home, looks like it might be up my alley.

I've never used Steam, is it possible to disentangle the game from Steam once it's purchased.

20% isn't enough if the game is forever limited.

Not that I'm aware of. I've never tried, and haven't heard anything about it.

Eh, I might get it anyways.  If I have any problems with Steam, I'll just pirate a copy of the game.

Legally, it will just be the re-aquisition of a copy of a program that I legally own anyways, so it seems like a good fallback position.  The reason I'm buying this game is to support the developers, anyways.

EDIT: Speaking of problems, does the game normally come with a manual?  My version doesn't, and I'm utterly confused as to the political system.  Who I gotta kill to get ahead?  ;D

EDIT1: Ok, the forums say that the game should in fact come with a manual, it's just the Steam copy that doesn't.  But apparently the forum also links to the manual...somewhere.

I've been trying to enjoy this game but...

Jesus... I just can't. I really don't think singleplayer for this game works at all.

Oh, I found a manual: http://www.paradoxplaza.com/sites/default/files/sengoku_manual.pdf

From what I've read from the forum, it's out of date.  Better than nothing.

That is one thing that really pisses me off about these games. "here is 10,000 features and an out of date manual. Best of luck!" It really feels like a slap in the face.

That said, I am going to download the demo. I doubt I'll like it but it sounds like lots of fun.
