"Boring Military" as in, "I can't learn it, so it's boring"? You notice you commited the same error you were complaining about, right?
I have learned it, and it doesn't matter, it's still completely uninteresting to solve threats to my dwarves by just pushing stacks of dwarves at the problem, and then letting some conflict I can't see be resolved without any real input on my part, since I can't really do much besides wait to see who winds up living, and maybe reading some obscenely long and uninteresting combat report.
Any enjoyment that might come from setting up uniforms is more than compensated for in devising large killzones by setting up mazes filled with spikes or flood traps to funnel enemies through.
And it's not an error, either. I am showing the opposite extreme on purpose so that people can see just how absurd it is that people denegrate others who dare enjoy the game in a different way than "no graphics, no traps, no engineering, no crossbows, axelords only, FINAL DESTINATION" are obviously just too
stupid to understand how to play "the real DF". I can't go very far on these general or fortress mode boards without seeing much of this same tripe.
I have just as much right to stand up for my playstyle as you do, and you don't have the right to tell people they are just incapable of understanding if they don't agree with you.
