Abbeyace-Community Fortress!
« on: February 27, 2011, 11:44:28 am »

So far I've only really posted in one thread. An arena thread. WELL NO MORE! Today, I create a community fortress! Now since this is my first fortress, things might get a bit screwy. BUT OH WELL! And I'll only post pictures when necessary, like fortress pictures, because I don't want to have to upload a lot of pictures.

So anyway, cutting to the chase:
Version: DF 2010 ver .18
The embark site:
World Name: Gethkar (The Past Dimension) (Sounds awesome)
Continent Name: The Land of Disembowelers (I love you, Random Name Generator)
Spot Name: The Biles of Torturing (Yyeess...)
Biome: Tropical Freshwater Marsh
Temperature: Hot
Trees: Woodland
Other Vegetation: Moderate
Surroundings: Haunted
Brook: Diedsneer
Soils and Stones: Loam, Silty clay loam,Clay loam, Silty clay, Gneiss, Gabbro, Schist, Quartzite (Metamorphic layer, lots of gems!)

Neighbors: None.
Civilization: The Mortified Ropes

The site is on low elevation with mostly only slopes, although some of the southern border is low cliffs, basically all but the right end of it.

Fortress Name: Kuletalak, Abbeyace
Group Name: Doren Omer, The Diamonds Of Greenness

And I do accept people to become dwarves!

Current Dwarves:
Powder Mason (Powder Miner) Proficient Mason, Proficient Swordsdwarf
Riza (Elizar) Proficient Brewer, Proficient Hammerdwarf
Plisskin (plisskin) Skilled Furnace Operator, Proficient Metalsmith, Novice Engraver
JacenHanLovesLegoes Proficient Soapmaker Proficient Marksdworf.
Johnny (powpow) Proficient Axedwarf
-Computer- Proficient Woodcutter Proficient Carpenter
-Computer- Proficient Grower

No neighbors?

Also, I'll assume you already embarked so you've got a predetermined setup of dwarves. What did you go with?

You do know that no neighbours means no human/elves traders, nor goblin invasions? Only your dwarf traders, and FBs and megabeasts and that.

Well, I'm going for the first female of the embark group that you can find. Name her Riza.

Actually, I phailed and didn't embark, so my dwarf description is null... Deleted it.

Elizar, can you specify a skill? If you don't care, I'll make her a Mason/Macedwarf. I want several masons to churn out things, and I'll need people in military skills- What if I just give everyone five points in a labor skill and five points in a military skill unless they want otherwise! That's an awesome idea!

I'll become a Mason/Swordsdwarf at once!

Again, if you have no neighbours, are you going to fight forgotten beasts? Gonna be a difficult task getting a title.

Make her just the brewer. You're going to need one anyway.

Yeah. Mace or Hammer, any blunt weapon really. Last time I knew, it was good against the skeletal creatures. I haven't played DF in a long time. Bad computer.

As for titles, they come from killing named creatures or persons.

I don't even care about having a title. And you're now a Brewer/Hammerdwarf. Now to hope others join...

After a wandering skeleton kills a few sock-hungry dwarfs it'll get a title, and the lucky schlub who downs it will get their own.

I'd like to be a general furnace operator and metalsmith who also dabbles in engraving. Have me take any extra metals I smelt and stud some leather with them so that you've got studded leather in your leather pile so you can be a stud in your studded leather.

ggamer: D'oh!
plisskin: Accepted. I think you have a few too many skills to have a military one though, but oh well, it doesn't really matter.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.
