I'm not talking about the fighter games made by someone else...

There's plenty of people who slaughter Lunatic mode like it was nothing. It just takes practice ;), that and playing and dying a dozen or so times so you can memorize the bullet patterns. The only real thing that takes practice is the timing of your bombs, really, which is more like developed instinct than practice.

First of all, why do Touhou people have to turn fucking everything into Touhou.  It's like the borg or something.

Second of all, Ghosts'n'Goblins, Contra, etc.

BECAUSE EVERYTHING WORKS BETTER AS TOUHOU

Anyway, I thought some of the IWBTG Fan Sequels were even harder.

I feel like Touhou is a big secret that I'm glad I'm not part of. All I know is that there's fighting games and bullet-hell games and it's extremely anime and has billions of little girl "loli" characters. A few of my friends are really into it, though.

Off-topic, but this basically sums up my hate for Touhou.

On topic: I Wanna Be The Guy is the stupendously hard game of choice. In lesser veins are other platform hells such as Super Meat Boy.

As long as you don't require "hair-tearingly hard", because it's still possible to beat without continuing, the US release of Contra Hard Corps is quite fun. It's basically one giant boss rush.

Also, Big Rigs:Over the road Racing is quite hard... if you play to lose.
