If you like a good series, The Pacific is incredible. It's a sort of sequel to Bands of Brothers, which I hear (I've yet to see it) is also great.

Watched some of it, despite being a avid read of the Pacific war, I didn't find most of it very interesting. It doesn't have the same X-Factor as BoB does. I strongly suggest watching BoB!

I have Das Boot, extended directors cut. It is truly brilliant. It was a birthday present once. I may watch this again sometime soon!
It took me years to see all of it, when I was a child I thought it was a series. I didn't realise it was one realllyyy long film until I went to rewatch it as an adult.

Moon I've never seen, people kept mentioning it but I never got around to it. I assumed it was the usual modern tripe which has some good ideas, extremely poorly executed and with focus on special effects. Maybe I was wrong to be lukewarm about moon!

Halo Legends is good, but only certain parts. The bit with the mutant monkey and the unlucky spartan almost made me puke. The bit about the first Arbiter though, that was epic.

Doom had to be one of the most mediocre movies I've ever seen. The only memorable part was the first person scene and that was so ill-advised. The rest of the movie was just boring as hell.

I will agree that Legends is probably only half good, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on the latter statement.
Odd One Out is a parody and is awesome, but The Duel was horrendous.
On that note, Homecoming and Prototype are my favourites.

If those are your typical complaints about modern sci-fi? Prepare to be kicking yourself repeatedly for overlooking moon. I was tempted to say that Moon is the only real science fiction movie produced in the last 10 years. I certainly have seen no real peers to it in that time.
