Tell me my dear dwarven brothers:

is artifact clothing worth putting on a dwarf?
i know the cloak is valuble for defence against archers.

i put them on the same dwarf, though he has yet to test it out propperly.

My frontal defences consist of alot of glass weapon traps with obsidian mechanisms in a magma flooding corridor, they tend to tire the goblins out then damage almost every part of their anatomy.

It couldn't hurt, but to be safe you should also at metal under or over it. I forget if it effects it.

Artifacts are marginally better in combat than regular equipment.  You're much better using any metal than any artifact leather.  It's something like... regular armor gets 3 rolls, and each roll is either a "hit" or "block" and if it's a "block" then the armor works.  Artifact armor gets 4 rolls instead.  So, while technically more effective, leather armor blocking an axe swing will never be as good as steel armor.  That's why I'm only ever interested in weapons, furniture, and mechanism artifacts.  These can all be built somewhere and increase room value!

Ah-ha, well there's always that.  Throwing an artifact leather cloak on over steel armor certainly won't hurt!

Or, you could always leave them for if you ever decide to go adventuring.
