Well, hey! Let's play everyone's favorite game-borne-of-boredom:

The rules are simple: one person proposes a question with a simple format:

Would you rather...
  • This?
  • Or This?

And then we discuss our answers! I'll start:

Would You Rather...
  • Lose a leg?
  • Or lose Dwarf Fortress?

No matter how much I despise cake, it beats death.

Would you rather:

A) Invent time travel and be responsible for accidents involving someone getting stuck in the past?
B) Invent teleportation and be responsible for the inadvertent deaths (as the teleported person is simply a full physical copy, and the original consciousness instantly dies) or multiple people?

Teleports, as the potential for telefrags has the WTF?-factor that getting clobbered to Death by cavemen doesn't have.

Both are nearly invulnerable, but I'd be the clown for the ability to shoot flames and the lack of a deathly weakness to fluffy wamblers.

Latter, since with the latter I have a chance of surviving. With the glass shards... Not so much, since I'd be bleeding everywhere.

  Be on a colony ship to a planet with a toxic atmosphere that's also filled with magma planes and the planet's tidally locked and asteroids constantly bombard the planet?
  Or be on a scout ship testing out if black holes can act as teleportation devices?
