http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/108015-Anonymous-Hacks-Westboro-Baptist-Church-on-Live-Talk-Show

A good article with interesting information and links. Enjoy.
I don't know why WBC get into this one. They will get there ass kicked. Scientology was a lot bigger and more powerful then WBC and, even though they managed to survive, some might say better then anon, they got kicked in the balls several times. WBC can not handle that sort of treatment.

Thanks for that link. That's where I originally saw it. Then lost it, then it cropped up on youtube.

Also, WBC needs to learn to pick its fights better...

That smile is creepy.
Like, really creepy.

It's staring into your soul, and it is hungry.

God that lady's smile-likely-hiding-rage is aggravating. They deserve whatever Anon throws at them for being such idiots and taunting them internet voice-to-internet voice.

No she dosn't. She is a zealot, but a dumb one. What she thinks and feels, and how creepy her smile is, are all beyond her direct controll. What she is guilty of is advocating her hate upon others, and for that the sites of her church will burn to the ground.  But few indevisuals should suffer for being led blindly into such stupid actions.

Jeez guys, she's only one person. I think it's pretty shortsighted and morally skewed of everyone here to take an entire view of the WBC organization from the opinions and social etiquette of one person. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Yes, teach them to have free religion by taking away their insane religion. Wait a minute...

As big a jackass as that Shirley character was, she made a very serious point.  There's a "spokesperson" from "Anonymous" disavowing that an "anonymous" press release was written by "Anonymous".  I would honestly like to say to the guy being interviewed, you live by the "we are everyone we are no one" and you die by the "we are everyone we are no one".  You don't get to say whether "Anonymous" has members or planning, because if you do, the whole concept becomes bullshit.

By that logic, can you blame any anonymous activity on "Anonymous"? That sure would be swell!

That is... A very good point. A hacking group that attacks a church, and the church blames anonymous. Anonymous claims it wasn't them, however anonymous also claims that they are not a single entity, but rather the voice of the people, therefor that includes the hacking group in question. So safe to say, yes, anonymous started this. For good or bad reason, the guy in the interveiw was wrong to deny this.

That's bullshit. By that logic, you could literally blame any anonymous attack made for any reason on "Anonymous". That is not reasonable, even if it is in line with the statements Anonymous makes about its composition.

"Anonymous" is a fairly nebulous entity, without any centralized planning or leadership, or defined ideology or anything like that. That's what they mean when they say "we're everyone and no one"; that they're a loose group with no defined membership, authority, ideology, or anything else. That does not imply that anything done by anonymous people can be blamed on them, or that they aren't a group at all. And even if it does, that doesn't excuse other people treating it as if that's the case, because it's outlandish; blaming some ragtag internet collective for some anonymous attack in Africa done by some guy who's never even been on the Internet, for instance, would not be remotely responsible.

And hell, blaming the whole of Anonymous for something that one member does also isn't responsible, especially if Anonymous defines themselves so loosely, and if that one member doesn't represent a significant proportion of the group (as with any group).

I always feel strange thinking about Anonymous, because I eventually come back to the idea that the closest thing Anon has to a real ally is the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who also attempt to track down and arrest Anonymous members on a semi-regular basis.

It's always seemed to me that an action could only be said to have been done by Anonymous if a significant number of people in the group say it was/wanted it to happen.  Without support from the rest of the group it's more of an independent action.
