I fully intend, barring accident or disease, to have myself euthanised at some point not long after my body starts well and truly falling apart. Probably another twenty or thirty years from now... forty on the outside.

Just before this happens, I will be strapped to a conglomeration of sufficient fireworks to both lift by body a few hundred feet off the ground and fully immolate my corpse once the fireworks detonate. This device will be launched once I am confirmed dead. Tickets will be sold to the event, and all proceeds donated to whatever charity I favor at the time.

Then, there will be cake, cookies, and perhaps dancing. Something cheerful to accompany the fireworks, in any case.

No you don't, dying a hero means screaming you last seconds out in agony as you watch your friends get blown to bits around you. Then the enemy charge forwards and the last thing you see as a cruel face staring down at you from the other end of a rifle. The world fills with sound and pain and then

I am disappointed in all of you. None of these are glorious, ironic or stupid enough.

Hit by an ambulance, set on fire by a fireman, beat someone to death while on fire, fighting off several lions and then you're bit by a snake, slip on blood. Anything!

After I invent the secret immortality serum, I would, of course, make myself the first test subject. The years would go by, and I would have many lovers. They would all leave me, believing I was a monster of some sort, as they would age and I would not. Of course, I would have never released the immortality serum, because it has an awful secret: when you want to let go, you will. Neither age nor life would take you otherwise. Hardened by years of spurning lovers and lovers spurning, I would come across one beautiful partner who would become my world... and then crush it, walking away like nothing had ever happened. I would go mad. Sitting in a white room I was forced into, my blood staining the walls in the shapes of words to friends I never made concerning things I never cared about, I would wish myself away. Out of this cruel, tasteless world. The white would turn to black, and no one would care, because I would have the sweet embrace of whatever afterlife (or not) awaited me in my hands. The worries of the world would be gone.
