Any creature suggestions?

Also, how can I get my dwarfs to get hostile creatures in there without being horrible mulitated?

Cage traps are your friends.

As for animals...

Anything large, preferably very hard to catch and water-bound.

Also feed them goblins.

If you can get a GCS to spew webs on your cage traps, you can capture titans and forgotten beasts with them.

You can't move spider webs though, so it's often easier to re-build the entrance to your fort rather than re-webbing a set of traps. Cheap walls are your friend.

I manage to catch bronze colossi, dragons, cyclops, and giants with normal cage traps with no extra assistance from webs or distractions.

Oddly enough, the bird trap I set up using a nest box as a lure has been most successful since they like to head straight for the nest box to destroy it. I only have 2 cage traps in front of it.

Perhaps the quality of mechanisms is important.

Even though it doesn't seem like it's needed for dragons, etc, I routinely catch thieves by using chained dogs to force the thieves to dodge attacks while they're standing on cage traps. I usally use 4-6 dogs. (Might want to get the dogs out of the way if a dragon comes along though because dogs + dragon = pile of burning dog corpses.)

The quality is not important. What is important, is knowing what can avoid traps and what can't. Dragons, ettin, giants, hydra, none of these avoid traps. They will gladly walk into a single cage and sit there. Titans, Forgotten Beasts, and HFS are all [TRAP_AVOID] as well as kobold thieves under certain circumstances. These will walk over a legion of 10x serrated disks traps without noticing. But, anything is vulnerable to traps when rendered unconscious, even your own dwarves, and GCS web has the effect of causing a brief "unconscious" period when stepped on by anything other than a spider. So, titan walks over the web, goes unconscious for a split second, and gets caged. The issue then, is making sure the titan is caged, and not a groundhog.

Actually, "webbed" is a separate status from "unconscious," which is why webs work on random creatures and cave-in dust doesn't - they have [NOSTUN] but not [WEBIMMUNE].
