Artifact bin held by owner is claimed by a stockpile
« on: April 03, 2007, 11:04:00 am »

My gem stockpile claimed an artifact bin held by the dwarf who made it.  The stockpile doesn't seem to want to claim any other bins to fill itself up either.

Ah, yeah, that would probably happen.  So, for now you can just delete that pile, and maybe make a little 1x1 pile to claim the artifact bin.  Then go on playing normally.  Hopefully dwarves won't try to steal the artifact bin from the creator, or the creator and hauler might get caught in a loop.

Oh come on, the loop would only last 5 years.  After that the creator would drop it  ;)

Who can prove at first hand that they do drop artifacts after 5 years?

In about two years of gameplay most of my artifacts 3 including a trhone should be available for my use right? So if I see a stone bed and am able to use it then the owner dropped it right?

Ok, one of my platinum chain artifacts is available to be used... so that means that artifacts are dropped. Not sure if it was only five years though, sorry I wasn't paying much attention.

The creator could have also bit the bucket, too.

Ok, sorry, that made me laugh. 'Cause I pictured a hungry (vermin-hunting) dwarf chewing on a bucket...

You mean kicked the bucket or bit the dust? Or is this a new term I am ignorant to?

True, I suppose, especially since some of the other earlier artifacts aren't available yet... So I guess the guy died huh?

Oh if I made his chain a restraint and used it for justice do you think they would get happy thoughts from a tastefully arranged chain when tied up with it?

Actually yes.  I've had dwarves admire both the chains and cages that they've been imprisoned in.  Oddly enough, it helps calm them down for some reason.  Maybe they feel like they got the good cell and not the crappy one  ;)
