Iron not melting in magma? (nevermind)

So I got annoyed by all the stuff the goblins will drop when they die and therefore decided to drop the goblins and trolls into a magma pit. When I checked the tile where they are going to land in the magma, there is a lot of their iron stuff and molten copper. The iron does not seem to melt away.

Iron is magma-safe, if I recall correctly. So it's expected behavior.
