So, is everyone (practically) I've met an idiot?
« on: February 24, 2011, 04:43:30 pm »

Strange thing about my life:
Practically everyone I meet in person doesn't like me.

Could be my attitude, I'm pretty much silent around most people, but it gets worse if I'm not.
But it seems that I there is something about me that no one likes.

Any Ideas?

Pyro is probably some experimental government R&D AI.

I'm going to guess that people interpret your silence as sullenness. And then you do open your mouth and say something like "is everyone I've met an idiot?"

An old man is sitting by the gates of the city. A traveler comes up the road and says "old man, I am thinking of coming to this city to live. What are the people like here?"

The old man replies, "What were they like where you are from?"

The traveler responds "They were all mean, greedy, insensitive, rude, stupid louts."

The old man says "Alas, you will find that the people here are much the same."

The traveler moves on.

Another traveler comes up the road and says "old man, I am thinking of coming to this city to live. What are the people like here?"

The old man replies, "What were they like where you are from?"

The traveler responds "Oh, they were the kindest, sweetest, gentlest, most noble folk you could imagine!"

The old man says "Welcome, you will find that the people here are much the same."

What makes you think it can't be your attitude just because you're silent? You realize that's part of whatever your "attitude" is, right? How you carry yourself around people matters even if you remain silent and practically avoid them; in fact, that might be the problem.

Thing is, its worse for me when I do speak, so I keep my silence. People usually just taunt me with what I say.

Also, whenever I try to just blend in, suddenly what everyone else was doing, isn't cool anymore.

And is it possible to change the topic name? I worded that very poorly.

Eh, maybe it's just the fact this is my first year at a new high school.

Locking the topic.
