In the previous battle

We captured 8,000 Russian soldiers and their General Korsakov.
They are put in Stockholm POW camp, just created.


Our forces pursuing the army moved into Norway, and in the Blizzards of the area, a new battle begins.

Our cavalry forced their infantry to form squares, and harrassed them killing thousands. However we have no supplies here, we are running low on ammo.

We captured the city of Trondheim and raided the stores for ammo.

The Russians tried to retake the town, but faiuled. Retreating they lost another 12,000 men.

We also captured the Russian Generals Buxhowden and Kutuzov, however BP's arty was abandoned in the snow. Our army has taken casualties in the blizzard, we will withdraw.

I'll rename the captured Russian one 'Sheb'.

The Fleet is severely outgunned, we are basicly cowering in malmo port at the moment. The full might of the Russo-Dutch navy is waiting outside.

Pow's are basicly units on the strategic map, only they dont get reinforcements. When war ends they are released back to their former country. Also, when put in a fort in a province(prison), they give a production bonus from prisoner labor lol it's truly amusing.

Our army is depleted though, only 20,000 are currently in the field. However we gave them such a beating we are actually in a better position. The only problem is we are in northern norway with no supplies, we can either assault the fort and set up a depot, or try and walk the blizzard and make it back to stockholm, only to face a bunch of Russian troops waiting.

Not dutch, I meant danes The troops cant attack mainland denmark, but its garrisoned with swedish loyal militias, so we dont need to go there.

Snarky I believe got sunk last turn fleeing from the ruskies in the Atlantic . Ill check.

Yep Snarky is swimming with the fishes, but the merchant it captured is docked in a British port hiding from the Russian navy.

The main negative of being blockaded for us is our trade income is stifled, which makes up about 50% of our money income. In fact our economy is really in trouble. Taxes will have to rise.

Just did a turn

Apr 1810

Our army took Trondheim fort and established a depot, for supplies. The Russian army abandoned Stockholm - they cant siege it. I will bring a militia unit from Stockholm fort to Trondheim to garrison the fort, then the war continues.

We lost less than 150 men taking for fort, this is a good result.

Can't we ask the Brits for help? They got the biggest navy around after all, and they seemed to like us quite a lot.

The battle of Norway - we are outnumbered 2 - 1, wish me luck 

The battle was fought over a ridge, we managed to get there first and occupy it, night fell soon after.

Russian general Kulnev was killed when our cavalry charged his infantry.

Their infantry outnumbered us 2-1 and assaulted the hill. All throughout the day they tried and tried, we nearly ran out of ammo but we held them off. During the night our cavalry rallied and reorganised, they moved to harrass the beleaguered northern flank of the hill which had been taking the brunt of the fighting.

By the end of this day, they nearly made it up the hill, but we fended them off. They made an orderly withdrawl.

Both sides lost 6000 men.

I wish, they are neutral and like the Ruskies too much to help. I don't think they would backstab us though.

Stalemate. We cannot afford to make any offensive actions, neither can they.

Britain offers us a treaty to liberate the Danish, they will in return liberate the Irish.
I think we should consider this, they are getting close to victory(800 points). We can always charm the Danish later into a protectorate again.

We lost a battle at Gotenburg, they outnumbered us too much. Two of our cavalry divisions and one infantry surrendered.

The Lone Battery

A fresh artillery battery was made in stockholm, the Russians attacked them. They found the nearest hill and prepared the guns.

The russians attacked up the hill but were blown back.

The Artillerymen lost 700 as their cavalry charged the hill. Despite outnumbering us more than 10-1 the Russians lost over 4000 men.

We now have 27,000 Russian prisoners.

Our merchants managed to evade the Russians the last few months, our money is rising.
