I'm up for it.

Make me whatever is needed, really. Farmer or Carpenter or whatever.

Bit of a change in location... (The last one was fekking buggy. Generic 'grass' in the lowest caverns...)

Also, gonna make a wiki for images and uploading the save to and stuff.

You're the succession organizer, you can double post safely. If people don't specify their skills soon enough for you then start filling needed gaps.

I've always wondered if certain materials would be expanded upon, such as brimstone/saltpeter. What size is our embark?

It's a 4x4, and the new embark (in a completely new world.) has cinnabar. Yay for quicksilver and the neurological damage it causes! All we need to do is find a way to boil it after extracting it... Although it's gonna be hard to extract without iron for the containers...

(I modded in reaction and workshop for powdering brimstone and rock salt and extracting mercury from cinnabar.)

At this point I would like to take my name away from this fortress.

Good luck and may Armok be with you.

Why? I put in the skills you wanted...

edit: and besides, I ended making you the militia commander...

Here's the first set of journal entries:

8th Granite, 163

We hit the Caverns! Now, to move all our stuff down there...

18th Granite, 163

Valrandir is involved with that farmer that nobody really knew or cared about, but the queen insisted be part of our expedition. I hope they're happy together.

21st Granite 163

And so begins the move into the Caverns! We're moving in the food first.

26th Granite, 163

Grr! Why do I have to drag those smelly animals to the stupid pasture? I'm a scientist, not a farmhand!

11th Slate, 163

Why in the name of Doren Domas Doren am I eating a mushbulb off the Cavern floor? I feel like an idiot... Somebody should have hauled this to the stockpile ages ago...

15th Slate, 163

... Taking animals apart is fun... Making their skin into stuff is fun too...

20th Slate, 163

Teeheehee... Horses are so much fun to pick apart and see what's inside 'em... There's a lotta stuff inside 'em...

5th Felsite, 163

I think I'm gonna be sick... I had to deconstruct the temporary butcher's shop as part of a small move, and when I did, there was this kinda stink explosion. It smelled like something died, and marinated in its vomit for a month in the sun.

28th Felsite, 163

... Why is the symbol for our local government a duck, anyways? I clearly suggested at the meeting that it should have been a fox squirrel. I like fox squirrels. And brass and aventurine and bismuthinite. A fox squirrel made of brass and aventurine and bismuthinite would be the best thing ever. I would call it Urist.

26th Malchite, 163

Test subjects for my gruesome experiments! I mean migrants! Yes, migrants... that's exactly what I meant...

12th Galena, 163

Engravin', engravin', engravin' is so fun! Hmm... Needs work...

I wouldn't mind joining as a mechanic and/or engineer (or whatever really) and taking a turn at some point, if you still need some numbers.

We've already started the expedition, but, as I've always say, the more the merrier.

1. Could you post our personalities and stuff?

2. Does in go in the order it went in last time or a new order, like the one on the first page?

Because I'm quite busy with other things at this time.
Also if the mods were announced from the start I would not have joined in the first place.

Relax, man, some people have lives besides DF and he did say in his starting post he wasn't interested in mods.  :)

TBH I have no idea what your mods are exactly or what happened in the first year aside from something getting butchered (the pack animals maybe?) and that it has cinnabar.

War lizards, some new races, giant pnuematic flying jellyfish, 'Dao' (essentially biomes personified), and some other junk I can't remember at the moment...

It's awfully modest compared to Genesis. :P

Last few journals:

18th Timber, 163

Love! I'm in love!

8th Moonstone, 163

Today, work begins on my lab!

14th Moonstone, 163

Valrandir changed his name to Kikrost Tiristrig̣th for some reason... I feel a shift in the cosmic balance...

15th Opal, 163

Grr! This is taking to long! I want my Doren Domas Doren damned lab!

1st Obsidian, 163

Gahh! Running out of time!

17th Obsidian, 163

Thief! Stinking kobold thief! I wish I could catch and use it as a magmanaut...

And... Done!

Luftwaffle, I was sick of picking a site, then having to abort because of an unideal mix of dwarves, so Puddingstone ended up as a she-dorf. And romantically involved with my dorf. T_T

Oh well.

Also, could somebody build a roof over my lab? I don't want giant bats 'n other critters gettin' in.

Here's a link to where I've uploaded the save:

Link

Just go to 'manage wiki' and go to files, and click on 'region3.zip' and download it and unzip it into the save folder in DF (Make sure there isn't a folder called region3 already in your save folder!), and then download 'lair_hunter_arachkin.txt into your speech folder.

Yay! Metal and Magma!
