I think if he's going with the blocks gradually being destroyed thing then water should seep in through partially broken blocks, just slower.

Sounds good. That way you could have warning that you're digging into water, so that you can build a wall infront of it to stop it from leaking... Yet you're not doing so with dry feet so to speak!

If this game get's enough fame, possibly I might play it, if not it will end up being dead.

If this becomes open source, the only sensible thing to do would be to make it like Minecraft in better, but free!!

Yeah, it's just a tech demo right now, but if the guy works on this it could become what Minecraft could be if Notch was still doing the Secret Friday Updates.

Well the competition is a good thing, a new genre of game has been created and we get to watch as it is perfected

It's not, but theoretically ought to be. Technical limitations means that the Minecraft map size is around 8 times the surface area of the earth.

If minecraft had the same water system as DF, it would take the game to a whole new level.

Then all we would need would be servers that can hold 200 people.

I want a minecraft war!

Screw the water.

What makes DF cool is a great damage system, now with tissues and materials. If we get THAT in minecraft, then we may talk.
