Friend of mine showed me this. The guy's got some awesome water going for him. I dont like how he called it a 'DF clone' but eh, really, I reckon this is looking pretty damn awesome. No website, I dont think.

Dwarf Fortress is a game where you build fortresses by mining out blocks.  Minecraft is a game where you build fortresses by mining out blocks.

I wonder if he's on the forum.  He keeps talking about how he made this because he's a huge DF fan and that Minecraft wasn't similar enough to DF for him.

So, yeah, it's the creator that did the comparisons. :p

I sort of think that this guy is aiming for something similar to Dwarfed, except not made in Byond.

EDIT: If this guy is a big fan of DF he should be on these forums right?

EDIT2: I think making it not infinite is a good thing. Have an area aboveground to build stuff, and then have a whole bunch of stuff underground.

Looks rather nice, if he doesn't completely rip off minecraft/df when the game is actualy developed enough to have its own features, then I'm all for it, 3D dwarfed actualy does sound nice.

I actually really love the idea of something like this being open source. I'd love to get my hands on this and add my bit to it.

'Cause, he says he wants to get it working more like DF than Minecraft... And, I think I - and most people here, actually - would be able to help out alot with giving it that DF touch.

Sound like a good concept, although its going to take him a while to get it up to enjoyability, and playability, do want this guys email to give suggestions and such.

Like a proper way to make water for starters... and arts for his now fugly graphics.
