All this new stuff and...

...it's all so frikkin' hard to find. At least, consistently. Right now I'm running through a new world gen trying to find sites that have no aquifer, shallow metal, and deep metal. I've genned entire worlds with no clay, so I've given up on having ready access to it. Then I have to run through each potential Dwarf civ in "prepare carefully" mode to find one that has the materials I want available.

WTB better tools for checking out the geography immediately after world gen, and checking out a civilization's resources before embarking.

In my world only oceans have shallow metals :S
Deep metals are more common and if you don;t want aquifers, you can just mod them out

Hopefully this will be fixed next release.

Four releases from now is when Toady plans to do some work with mineral veins, I believe.
