Probably like hyper drive, but not FTL.  Or some kinda getaway / launching booster.   Firefly is an old class, so its probably on all/most other ships.

Firefly doesn't have FTL, the system humanity colonized is just weird. Multiple orbiting suns and stuff.

Yeah, there was no FTL in firefly but there was a reactionless drive so it wasn't hard scifi.

It was all one system, that had been recently terraformed. The terraforming took to some planets better than others, which explains the dearth of deserty / rocky planets.

At least that's what I remember.

This crowdfunding idea sounds interesting, but I'm a bit weary of it.  Sounds like it could turn in to a scam too.  Still, exciting stuff.

I love how the first two comments.

I'm very much worried about how this would turn out, serenity pretty much tied up all the loose plot ends, and it put a sword in the whole mysterious air around River's precognition (I mean, was it just her being super-retentive and observant o- nope she's psychic), and the reavers (same deal basically).

Na, i think they should continue after Serenity, focus on raising cash for a army and do some raids on Alliance warehouses.

Well i don't think Alliance exists anymore, atleast it shouldn't after the whole system saw what they saw, so it's kind of pointless i think, they should just do what Futurama did, pretend they never got cancelled :D
