YES! this tech can be used for some faerie tale recreation projects. Shearable is way more versatile than I thought!

The extraction process causes no injury or damage.

So, we take the process to the logical conclusion:

Dwarven Barber shop!

Now THAT is a good idea. If Goblins can shave Trolls, why can't our Dwarfs make clothing from their own hair?

It also skirts the whole gruesome necromantic debate...

*GASP* You're not... shaving BEARDS, are you?!

Coincidentally, beard-shaving was one form of justice that was thought about.

Don't you fret, the hair is only cut from the top of the head. The hairs provided by the beard are those that are combed out during a luxurious beard grooming session.

What are we going to do with dwarf hair?!

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

...and can now be implemented! The beard could be the shearable bodypart, right?!
(or is that horrific idea not actually possible.)

What are we going to do with dwarf hair?!

Make shirts. Nets. Cribs. Floor Smoothers.... all the things dwarves used their beards for before they became civilized and used things made out of their beards.

I am so fucking amazed right now. Five days and we're already harvesting bones from living creatures just for the hell of it.

Well to make up for the lack of metal, I modded in a reaction to make bone spears, so I guess I have some motive... But bone spears don't work nearly as well as metal.

Kittens now have steel bones.

Dwarves now have "cotton candy beards". Very light and fluffy.

You could always mod in a Stymphalian bird as they had a beak, claws, and feathers of bronze.
